Let Go: Leaving Behind What We
Don’t Need Thursday Morning Worship
2016 General Conference of the Metropolitan Community Churches
SETTING THE SCENE
Letting go of the past requires deep trust in the God who has promised to be with us always. Our scripture this morning joins the Israelites crossing over the Jordan river into the promised land. There are those among us who know deeply and personally about crossing over - our transgender siblings. And they know that once the crossing over begins, there is a
letting go that needs to happen in order to move forward. They are Joshua for us. They are living testaments and can help us all know what it means
to cross over into deeper authenticity and life.
