Women’s Club
FABULOUS NEWS!! The total charitable giving for our Club in
2017 was a record breaking $43,412.29!
This amazing amount was raised at only eight luncheons held during the year.
There was no January luncheon because of the Anthem Ballroom renovation.
We appreciate everyone’s support of our raffles and our designated local charities.

Let’s Have MORE Fun!
_________
Program: Randal Keith is best known as
Jean Valjean in Les Misérables. He appeared in
Les Miserables for nine years and nearly 3000
performances on Broadway and the National
Tour as well as Canada, China, and South Korea. His love of musical
Theatre started a bit later than most young performers, not
discovering theatre until his college years, but as soon as he
performed in his first play he knew there was no going back. It was
summer stock theatre that led him to Chicago and to his first real
break with the First National tour of The Phantom of the Opera. He
has played The Phantom in The Phantom of the Opera and also
played Raoul, Monsieur Andre and Piangi during his six years on
tour and three years in Vegas.
After the closing of the tour of the original production of Les
Miserables, Randal moved to Las Vegas in 2007 to open the Vegas
production of Spamalot as Sir Belvedere and eventually taking over
the role of King Arthur. Most recently, Randal starred in Steve
Wynn’s Showstoppers.
It was near the end of Phantom, the Las Vegas Spectacular that
Randal, along with Bruce Ewing and Ted Keegan, began creating
what would eventually be known as The Phat Pack. “We wanted to
create an evening of songs and stories that really inspired us. A
chance to do what we do best. Sing songs that we love with the
people we wanted to work with every night.” The Phat Pack ran for
a year at the Plaza hotel in Las Vegas and is now touring the
country. Randal has now created his first solo show, “The Music of
Robert Goulet: Broadway and Beyond.” Randal’s rich baritone voice
is a perfect match to recreate many of Robert Goulet’s most loved
songs from numerous Broadway shows such as Camelot, Man of
La Mancha, Brigadoon, South Pacific, Carousel, and many more. His
first solo CD, "Life Has Been Good To Me" is available through
iTunes and CD Baby.

Michael’s Angel Paws
The mission of Michael’s Angel Paws is “Helping Others Pawsitively, Everyday,” to enhance the dignity and quality of life for people with visible and invisible disabilities, through the use of a service dog. Michael's Angel Paws (MAP) offers guidance, training, education and certification of the service dog from start to finish. Our specialty includes service dogs for civilians and veterans with PTSD, mobility disorders, hearing loss, autism, psychiatric disorders, and diabetic disorders.
MAP offers guidance, selection, training, education, and certification of a service dog team through their organization. The organization is unique in that they offer several ways for a client to obtain a service dog: the client's own dog to service dog, rescue pup to service dog, or finally, a pawtastic volunteer raises a pup to be a service dog to be given to a recipient. It is their belief that in order for the team to work, a bond between the dog and recipient must be present.
MAP offers top-notch, affordable dog training to help minimize the number of dogs surrendered to our shelters. They believe that a well-mannered dog minimizes the chance that the dog will be surrendered to a shelter for behavioral reasons. They offer a variety of classes throughout the community, as well as in-home lessons, throughout Las Vegas and Henderson. There are a wide range of classes from basic to advanced, as well as agility for fun.
Founded by Bryce & Stephanie Gerken, their training philosophy isn’t one size fits all. It is as unique as your pup or the many pups they train. MAP specializes in training Service Dogs for mobility (balance, retrieval of items), psychological (PTSD), Autism, and medical alert (Diabetic, seizure, and hearing). They also train Therapy Dogs, a dog that enjoys meeting new people with a smile, a song, or a waggin' tail. Service dogs are matched with one specific person, while Therapy dogs serve many people in the community. All of the pups are required to pass the American Kennel Club's Canine Good Citizen Test as well as their Michael's Angel Paws Therapy Dog Test. These incredible dogs are able to lower blood pressure, improve cardiovascular health, release endorphins (oxytocin) that have a calming effect, diminish overall physical pain, and can be trained to notice a drop in blood sugar for diabetics and other specialized medical situations.
The help provided by the Women’s Club is instrumental in Michael’s Angel Paws ability to provide this remarkable service to our community.
