On October 18, 2019, eleven students of classes VII, VIII and IX participated in Inter School Spanish Com-petition, La Feria held at DPS International, Saket. The programme included painting, model making, musical drama and quiz. DPS, GBN students came out with fly-ing colours. Aditya Anand and Eshita Sahoo of IX-D secured Second Position in Spanish Quiz and Zaara Khan of VIII-D bagged Second Position in Poster Making.
Inter School Spanish Competition
DPS, GBN has been awarded Second Rank by Noida Authority in the Swachhta Ranking Competition held on various parameters of sanitation and waste manage-ment for the second quarter (July-Sept 2019) in the city of Noida in Category of Swachh School. It is a moment of great pride for the school as it exhibits the persever-ance and dedication of DPS, GBN to take the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi and the vision of our honourable Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi forward.

Traffic Awareness Campaign and Cleanliness DriveA Public Awareness Rally on Road safety and Cleanliness was organized by Interact Club students Of DPS, GBN School on October 3, 2019. More than 100 students and teachers held a rally at sector 110 traffic lights, Noida. The whole team visited Traffic Park and gathered the information of signals. Later, they assembled at the traffic lights, reached out to the public and campaigned on road safety. The students regulated traffic on the road. Interactors of DPS, GBN chalked out a cleanliness drive to convey the message of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. It was a successful event, wherein the students also interacted with traffic police as well as the citizens.
On October 16, 2019, Shiv Nadar School organized a seminar for the library professionals. Topics like: Role of School Librarians in 21st century, Changing Role of the Library Space, Importance of Library in 21st century etc. were discussed. DPS, GBN took active part and showed their remarkable presence. The speaker librarian Ms. Archana Varshney presented a paper on the topic The Importance of a school librarian in 21st Century. The judges appreciated the presentation and felicitated her with First Prize.
The Rotary Club of Noida conducted Teachers Day Programme on a grand note at DPS, GBN on September 5, 2019, and felicitated the Teachers-in-Charge of Interact Club of various schools on the day. The programme started with an invocation to the Almighty. The elaborate ceremony began with a heartfelt speech by Principal Ma’am, Ms Indira Kohli paying respect and thanking the humble teachers who lay the foundation of the students. This was followed by wonderful dance, singing and band performances prepared by students.
Expression of Gratitude for Interact Teachers
The Interact Club of DPS, GBN, Noida conducted a Best out of Waste Activity on September 27, 2019 in association with students from IIHM. The students came together in a burst of creative energy, where never seen before usage of waste materials were exhibited by them. The competition was successful in imbibing values of preservation, conservation and reduction of waste. All the participants were awarded with Certificate of Appreciation by the Principal of DPS, GBN- Ms Indira Kohli. She appreciated the students for their vision and efforts.
A one day orientation workshop was conducted by IBM Company in Partnership with CBSE on significance of AI on September 11, 2019 at Springdales School, Pusa Road, New Delhi. Our honorable Principal Ma’am, Ms. Indira Kohli and Computer teacher, Ms. Priyanka Misra attended the workshop. The idea was to reiterate AI as an emerging technology and the need to foster an AI-ready and innovation-ready ecosystem for educators and students. It was a great learning experience.
Artificial Intelligence: A need of the hour
Students of classes IX-X and XI-XII headed out for an autumnal adventure to the hills of Himachal on October 4, 2019 for a three days trip to Peach Valley, Rajgardh and Hail Himalayas Adventure Camp in Shoghi, near Shimla respectively. Students enjoyed and explored the camp sites, engaged in challenging activities like Burma Bridge, rock climbing, zip lining, river crossing, trekking etc. The bon- fire in the evening was a memorable time with singing and dancing adding to the relaxed and joyful atmosphere. It was a memorable experience filled with fun, adventure and joy.
Trip to Hail Himalayas Adventure Camp, Shoghi and Peach Valley, Ra-jgarh, Himachal Pradesh
Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) workshop was organized in Delhi Public School, GBN by Jamboree Education on October 15, 2019 for students of class IX to XI. SAT is a standardized test that measures mathematical, reading and writing skills of students aspiring to undergo their undergraduate studies abroad. The speaker also shared relevant information regarding the selection process of universities abroad, resume development and importance of letter of recommendations (LORs). It was an informative session for the students.
Scholastic Aptitude Test Workshop
On October 18, 2019 Times NIE, in association with BYJU’S Learning App conducted a PAN India mega event- School Super League, an aptitude test. Students of DPS, GBN (IV-IX) participated in the event. It covered a range of parameters such as verbal, numericability, mechanical, reasoning, abstract & special reasoning. The aim was to understand the learning footprints of the students & help them to gear up for the competitive challenges ahead. All the students participated with great zeal.
