Account
Why Savings Accounts
Savings accounts - Opened by individuals for parking their money
and for day to day transactions and deposit or withdraw funds at
will. Interest paid on savings account is at a rate of 3.5% p.a.
Interest is calculated on a daily basis and paid half-yearly in the
month of September & March
Banks normally require customers to maintain a minimum balance
in the account failing which a penalty is charged
QAB (Quarterly Average Balance)
Daily closing balance for each day in the quarter is considered
and the average is taken to calculate QAB

All the mandatory fields (fields with asterix mark *) should be filled in.
Applicant/s should be personally met by Sales Team or Branch official
Place of meeting to be preferably either Applicant/s residence, office or
Bank branch, which needs to be stated in KYC Certification column of
AOF.
For KYC document in vernacular language the BM, BOM or CAT or KYC
certifying official should satisfy himself / herself about the contents of the
document submitted and certify the document by affixing the following
stamp on the face of the document. The certification should be signed with
the signature identification number or employee number (if signature
identification number is not available).

Nomination
The importance of providing nomination to the applicant/s should be
explained and insist applicant/s to provide nomination.
A letter to be obtained if the applicant/s still do not want to nominate
and the same to be recorded in the Nomination column.
In case the applicant/s is/are not willing to provide the letter, it is to be
stated in nomination column 'nomination not required'.
Under no circumstances, account opening to be refused solely on the
ground that nomination has not been provided or applicant/s refused to
provide nomination.

Document Authentication
Bank official should check the original documents and satisfy the
same are genuine, valid as on date and there are no signs of tampering
or overwriting
Photocopies of documents to attested after verifying with the originals,
which will be submitted with the AOF.
As part of document verification, verifying official should put his name,
employee number and signature on copy submitted.
Only employees of the Bank should verify/attest documents ( SO or
Branch Official)
The applicant must self-attest the photocopies of all documents
submitted as documentary proof.
It is mandatory to fill up Telephone numbers in the AOF (Mobile or
Land Line).
