Numeracy & Literacy Strategies: Good literacy skills are needed for this activity:

Read the internet

Spatial awareness will be important

for layout of poster.

ICT Inclusion:

Basic computer operations

Effective Internet usage and

search techniques.

Publisher programming for poster

construction

Modifications for Improved Learning:

Some students may find it easier to work with a peer tutor or SSO to han-dle the reading necessary to com-plete this task.

Give students a copy of the-linc Transport and Logistics career choices offered to make pre-selection. Teachers could focus on one particular sector of the Transport and Logistics chain eg Air. A copy should also be given of the marking rubric to guide students through the expectations of the final product and assessment. Students log on to www.the-linc.com.au website then double click on the career section of the ship’s wheel. From there students are able to access information relevant to preparing a poster on that career by double clicking on their chosen career. Sample posters are included to assist with demonstrated results. Completed posters should be displayed together to show the relationship between careers e.g.:

AIR → Student pilot → Private Pilot → Commercial pilot →Helicopter pilot

→Charter pilot

→etc.
