•3 blocks of flats:-352 flats/apartments in total

•TUT staff and students as well as the public can rent flats•Flat rates are market related•100 % occupation

Main object of guest houses to accommodate short course attendees, lecturers and national and international guests

Student Affairs & Residence Operations (SARO)’s strategic focus is on the institutional Goal 4 which is “To provide holistic student support and development services”.

•Enhance student services and access to them in order to foster individual growth and development progressing to graduation,

•Student Affairs ensures that all SARO programs, services, and opportunities contribute to the University’s goal of improving throughput rates.


Improve Access & Diversity of Services:

Improve the quality of student support services in TUT.

•SARO units establish and maintain regular means for students to express opinions about services and programs and to provide input on unit decisions that affect students.


Improve Quality:

Address Human Resources issues:

1. Promote staff development and training opportunities for staff providing student support services.

2. In collaboration with CCPD and HR, SARO will assess the training and development needs of staff and develop programs that will promote staff development.
