LIVEABLE CITIESBy Finn Thielke
TASK ONE
What do you think makes a city a great place to live?
- I think that clean water makes a city a great place to live because without it, it could affect your health and decrease your life expectancy.
- I think that multiple beaches make a city a great place to live because it’s a nice free public place that everyone can enjoy, and it a great place to cool off.
- I think that a non polluted environment makes a city a great place to live, because unclean air can cause health damage, and clean air gives a refreshing feeling.
- I believe that a fair government makes a city a great place to live because without it, the city will be corrupt and riots could occur more frequently.
- I think that accessible public transport makes a city a great place to live, because it makes it easier to travel through the city without having to experience heavy traffic. It also reduces air pollution.
TASK TWO
I chose New York City because I was fascinated by the number of small islands that it is made up of. It has over ten different islands. I also learned that there are over five bridges in New York City. In 2012, New York had a population of 8.337 million people.
