C@LL

A message from C@LL This year has been harder than ever for us all so an extra special thank you for making C@LL the supportive community it’s become. Whether that’s been attending a virtual event or talk, coming to Sunday’s walk, commenting on Classlist or just observing the conversations. C@LL is your parent/staff association and our community is not term time only. We know the holidays can sometimes be challenging so we’re here if you want to reach out via Classlist or spend time with people who understand at the summer sessions we’ve planned (more details to follow). Whatever you all do this summer, I hope it’s enjoyable and restful. Take care Naseem, C@LL Chair Wimbledon Common Friends & Family Walk, 25th July Looking forward to seeing everyone who can make it on Sunday! Please check Classlist for contact numbers on the day. Early Years Graduation

Under blue skies and sunshine the EYFS classes held a lovely celebration and graduation assembly. Time was spent reflecting on all the achievements of the pupils over this last year and also for those pupils moving on to Primary what amazing journeys they have all had within their time in the EYFS. The staff team feel very privilege to have shared their journeys and proud of each of the pupils. We then had lots of fun playing with bubbles and dancing and moving to our favourite tunes from the year. We would like to wish all the EYFS pupils and families a very happy summer and a thank you for all you have done and your hard work Elizabeth Gillham

Dear parents and carers, As we come to the end of academic year in the Primary department, we are able look back and reflect on all of our pupil’s achievements. This year has been like no other and our pupils, families and staff teams have faced and overcome many challenges. I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone involved within the Primary and Early Year’s departments for their perseverance, dedica-tion and support. We will never truly understand the challenges that each and every one of you went through during the lock down periods but we always endeavour to support our families and pupils to the best of our ability. To all our primary graduates, I wish you every success heading into the secondary department and I look forward to seeing you progress through the school. To all our new starters coming into Primary and Early Year’s, I look forward to welcoming our new pupils and their families. I wish you all a restful summer break and look forward to seeing you all again in September. Best regards David The primary department celebrated and said goodbye to students moving up to the secondary department or starting a new journey. We celebrated in style creating individualised sashes, being presented with a cd made up of the students favourite songs, certificate and beautiful paragraphs describing how fantastic they all are. In class everyone shared a sway graduation assembly and were able to learn about and celebrate with their friends from other classes. Well done everyone and we wish you all well on your secondary journeys.

Harris Centre

This term Lloyd class have been creating art with an explorer theme. This project ended with an afternoon of exploring using the art work we have made. The students had a great time searching for their animals outside. A huge thank you to Linda for providing us with these fantastic ideas, leading our art sessions and making the sessions so fun and engaging for our students!

Lillie Recites her Poem Puck at The Globe Lillie wrote a poem about the character, Puck, from A Midsummer Night's Dream and made it her entry for the Poetry By Heart Competition. She received a commendation for the poem and was invited to recite it at The Globe Theatre with students from other schools who had also received commendations. She received thunderous applause and Poetry By Heart told her that they hope to see her back at The Globe reciting next year.

Wellbeing Day

On Thursday, Linden Lodge held a Wellbeing Day to reflect on the year we have had and celebrate what we have overcome as a community. We had a BLAST! Pupils took part in a carousel of activities, including cupcake decorating, a whole-school art project, African drumming, and a piano performance. We also had a petting zoo scheduled to join us, but their truck broke down en route and they could not make it. Lucky for us, though, the people at Rocky’s Animals have said they will reschedule our booking and give us a second booking for free! So we’ll be seeing them twice in the next year. The day ended with a whole-school clap. It was very moving to hear the applause ring out from every corner of the school. The joy from pupils was palpable throughout the day, and staff were so happy to wave them off for the summer with smiles galore. Thank you to the following people for making the day possible: The Jack Petchey Grant-Giver (which funded most of the event): Hayley Goodwin The Think-Tank: The Mental Health Champions for their Wellbeing Day ideas all those months ago The Organising Committee: Hayley Goodwin, Isobel Morland, Jackie Nolan, Jhenni Izquierdo, Melissa Dunn, Sinéad Bevan The Production Team:

Andrea Palocs & Hayley Goodwin for the cupcake station Winnie Williams & Fiona Woodworth for the drumming station Derek Paravicini & Adam Ockleford & Colleen Grove & Leonie Masterson for the piano performance Jackie Nolan, Jodie Collins & Elizabeth Wightman-Potter for the art project station The Residential Team for their muscle

Dear Families, I would like to thank everyone for the support and collaborative working that have shown me throughout my time at Linden Lodge. The pupils in the Secondary Classes would not have been able to make such fantastic progress without this level of commitment from you. This, coupled with the fantastic practice in the classes has seen our pupils, in spite of a what has been a difficult year for most and an incredibly hard time for others, settle into their routines and make holistic progress. It has been so wonderful to see them enjoying their learning each day. The sense or community has gone from strength to strength and I know that all the hard and good work that everyone has put in will continue into the future. The high pedagogy and expert knowledge across a range of disciplines in the school, coupled with everyone's dedication to holding the life chances and opportunities for our pupils in the highest regard makes this a truly special place to have worked. I will always look back on my time here with fond memories. I have learnt so many things in working with your wonderful children and young people and know that my practice has been irrevocably changed for the better. I wish you all a wonderful summer break and every success for the future. Best wishes, Paul Pearce, Deputy Head
