LOBELINE TM Rotary Lobe Pumps
LOBELINE TM
Heavy-Duty, Self-Priming IndustrialRotary Lobe Pumps Capacities to 2310 GPM (524 m3/hr) Pressures to 150 PSIG (10 bar) Temperatures to 212° F (100° C) Fluid Viscosities up to 1,000,000 cps
LOBELINE TM
is a Positive Displacement Pumpwith the following operationalfeatures:
Pump Runs DryNon-contacting pumping elements allows periodic use withoutfluid. Excellent for fluid transfers from tank to tank. Requires noflow indication equipment as used on Screw (Progressive Cavity)pumps that would cease and malfunction if run dry.
Low Shear ActionSmooth tri-lobe geometry provides gentle rolling action enablingshear sensitive fluids to be pumped with minimal damage.
Reversible FlowAbility to utilize pump in both directions excellent for purging linesor changing pumping system requirements enabling greaterprocess control.
Gas/Air Entrained FluidsLobe design can easily handle fluid containing gas/air. Centrifugalpumps are low on efficiency and are prone to losing prime.
Pump JammingWith LOBELINE simply remove the front cover plate to inspect orclear the pump blockage. Many other pump types such as Screw(Progressive Cavity), Flexible Member (Hose), Plunger,Diaphragm if jammed require substantial disassembly to simpleinspect or clear blockages.
Solids HandlingAbility to handle incompressible solids up to 31⁄2" (90mm)suspended within the fluid.
Metering/Controlled FlowProvides smooth predictable flow with minimal pulsation or surgingwhen faced with varying pressures. Does not require pulsationdampeners like Plunger, Diaphragm type pumps.
Power Consumption ExpenseLobe pumps require less power due to the non-contacting design.Screw (Progressive Cavity) due to their design require higher startup and running horsepower. Centrifugal pumps require increasedpower on viscosities greater that 300-500 cps.
Pump Installation Space ProblemLobe pumps require substantially less floor space than traditionalScrew (Progressive Cavity and Plunger type pumps.

LOBELINE™ is designed for superior pumpingcapabilities in a wide range of industrialapplications. Choose from 8 models, eachavailable in 12 sizes to suit a variety ofoperating conditions. Both bare pump andcomplete pump and drive packages areavailable. With interchangeable seal arrangements and a selection of wet endmetallurgies and designs for your specificapplication, LOBELINE offers the perfectengineered pumping solution to meet yourneeds.

FRONT-LOADING SEAL AREAAllows the hardened shaft sleeves ormechanical seals to be removed car-tridge style through the front of thepump—without removal of the casing.
TAPER LOCKINGASSEMBLIESUsed on rotors and gearsto simplify removal andrefitting.
REVERSIBLE FRONT COVEREnables the cover to be reversed when oneside is worn, effectively doubling its life.Flush–mounted design has no fastener pro-trusions to cause premature rotor failure.Hinged on larger models.
OPTIONAL RADIAL WEARPLATESUpper and lower wear plates patented designeliminate casing replacement. Retained via aseries of externally-sealed fasteners whichallow pump to be serviced in place.

LABYRINTH BEARING ISOLATORStainless steel construction elimi-nates ingress of liquid into the gear-box. Double-lip oil seal retains oil;grease nipple allows grease input toact as barrier within the labyrinth.Functions in static or running state.
HOOKED SHAFT SLEEVES Hooked stainless-steelsleeves protect the tool-steelshaft, providing full corrosionprotection. Sleeves are hard-ened for packing applications.O-ring seals keep liquid com-pletely away from the shaft.
TIMING PORT PLATELocated at the drive end, it per-mits easy entry to the taperlocking assembly (eliminatingthe need to remove thegearcase cover), allowingpump to be re-timed in theevent of a blockage within thepump casing. No more worriesabout oil drain-down!
OPTIONAL SEALED GEARBOX DESIGNIn addition to the front bearing isola-tor, the timing port plate can be fittedwith a labyrinth seal along with sealedexpansion caps in place of the tradi-tional vents. These optional features(not shown) allow the gearbox to befully immersed in flood conditions, orto function in extremely humid environments.
OPTIONAL REARWEARPLATESUpper and lower plates to protect cas-ing. Retained via a series of external-ly-sealed fasteners.
AXIALLY-SPLIT STUFFING BOXSimplifies the removal and replacement
of packing and lantern ring.
