●2 Bugs!Ages3-5Finally, a camp where you get to learn all about bugs. What do ants, butterflies and grasshoppers have in common? Learn the honey bee dance. Make your own crazy insect that has all the best of bugs.

●7 Ocean Commotion – Mr. Russ the Science GuyAges4-5Discover wiggly and squiggly ocean creatures and make your own imaginarium. Of course, an ocean week isn’t complete without sand crafts and sea shells.

●8 Ocean AdventuresAges3-5Find starfish and shells in the homemade tide pool. Visit the whales and dolphins that live in the sea. Make a hermit crab house with inspiration from Eric Carle’s A House for Hermit Crab.

●9 Joyful Music & MovementAges3-5Joins us as we make music and do some dancing. We’ll explore making music tapping on water glasses and using various instruments.

●10 Land of Enchantment – Enchanting Party Ages4-5

Our sweet dragon, Spiffniffily, likes to leave us clues to adventures. Our week-long scavenger hunt might lead to an enchanting party.

●11 SuperheroesAges3-5Make a costume and make up a story about your favorite hero. Play being a superhero and use your super powers for good.

●12 Edible FunAges3-5

Join us this week as we have some fun with food. We’ll make and decorate dirt cups, make individual pizzas, paint waffles to eat and more.

●13 Animal Fantastic – EPD K-9Ages4-5There are so many animals to discover and we are coloring, drawing and creating creatures of our own. The City of Eugene K-9 unit visits us too.

●14 Pirate TreasureAges3-5Aaarrr, matey. Talk like a pirate, make costumes and a pirate ship. Hunt for hidden treasure on the secret island.

●15 Out of This WorldAges3-5

It’s out of this world fun this week. Star constellations, painted comets, alien puppets and a little moonwalking. Decorate and hunt for moon rocks.

●16 Buggin’ Out – Mr. Russ the Science GuyAges4-5Bugs, butterflies and bees are creating a buzz in our preschool room. Explore the amazing world of bugs and enjoy a worms in dirt treat too.

●17 Messy CampAges3-5

This is definitely the messiest camp ever. Ride the make-a-mess slip-n-slide. Paint with spaghetti, ice cubes and cream. Be sure to wear old clothes that can get stained and messy.

●18 TravelingAges3-5This week we will take some pretend vacations and play with various modes of transportation. We’ll use cars, trucks and campers. We have an awesome set of wooden train tracks and trains. We’ll make paper airplanes to fly and tin foil boats to float.

●19 Marvelous Monsters – Movie DayAges4-5Monster crafts, monster tag and a monster movie highlight our week. Of course our monsters are friendly and we are taking summer pictures to show how cute we are.

●●20 Tropical ParadiseAges3-5Wear a lei and join us for some fishing and hula hooping. We will limbo, decorate surfboards, make a flip-flop cookie and enjoy some pineapple upside down cake.

●21 Explore the Outdoors – Guest StorytellerAges4-5Make sun prints and clothespin magnets as well as learn about microscopes. Also go on nature walks.

●22 I SpyAges3-5Every day there will be a new secret to uncover. Be a detec-tive, make a spyglass and use it to find the hidden secrets.

●23 Express YourselfAges3-5Express yourself through art, dancing and dress-up. Make up stories to share using props.

We end our summer with a festive lunch with our friends and family. We are making scrapbooks, self-portraits and finger paint art to share.

Learn the basics of tennis, competitive swimming and water polo. Should be able to swim 25 yards.

●3 American School of WizardryAges9-11Calling all wizards! Shake out your capes, brush up on your spells and join in another season of creativity, imagination and magic. Daily quidditch practice, spells, languages, runes, wands and more with the remarkable Professor Vulpes.

●4 Bugs!!Ages6-8Insects are all around us in everyday life but do you

really know about them? What do ants, butterflies and grasshoppers have in common? Make a bug catcher and set up a bug zoo. Build your own fantastical bug.

●5 Cottage Grove LakeAges6-11Kick back and relax. Summer is all fun and games. Swim, paddleboard and fly kites at the lake. Crafts, games, visit a local park and swim at Amazon pool.

●6 VEX IQ RoboticsAges9-11This is a rich and exciting introduction to robotics. Teams of students will be tasked with designing and building a robot to play against other teams in a game-based engineering challenge. Teams will compete in up to three levels of competition: teamwork challenge, robot skills challenge and programming skills challenge. No previous robotics or programming experience necessary.

●7 Rec & Roll – Scavenger HuntAges6-11Our campers are surprising other youth camps and City programs with a bus full of Rec fun. Then we roll to the next site. We’re bring magic moments to camp and sharing it with others. (Parents can call to get a list of sites.)

●8 Little WizardsAges6-8Make your own wands, potions and flying broomsticks. All magical children get to hone their skills here at the American School for Junior Witches and Wizards. All you need is your imagination and we will provide the spark of magic to send you soaring on an enchanted adventure.

●9 Enchanted ForestAges6-11Magic, imagination and play are the themes. There will also be a trip to Enchanted Forest. Enjoy crafts and games, visit a local park and swim at Amazon Pool.

●10 Riding the Rails – AMTRAK to AlbanyAges6-11We are hopping aboard AMTRAK for a train ride to Albany. After a few hours enjoying a nearby park, we will head back to Eugene. And of course, we will have train-themed activities all week too.

●11 Ultimate Disc CampAges9-12

Learn basic field skills, throwing the disc properly and foundations of self-officiating. Learn through play. Taught by a local certified Ultimate coach.

●12 Alice in WonderlandAges6-8

Follow our own Alice down the rabbit hole to Wonderland. There will be a Merry Unbirthday Bash. Tea with Alice and her friends. What are Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum up to? You may find yourself in a card game in which you are one of the cards!

●13 Full Moon Rising Ages6-8&8-10Experience an outdoor adventure every day, from rafting to tree climbing and everything in between.

●14 Sailing & SwimmingAges6-11Learn about sailing and water safety at Fern Ridge Reservoir. Enjoy crafts and games, visit a local park and swim at Amazon Pool.

●15 Sand Castles – Honeyman DunesAges6-11Roll down dunes, run up them and build upon them. Enjoy the Honeyman dunes with a week of sandy crafts, sandy relays and more.

●16 Adventure Bike CampAges8-10

Biking adventure for youth includes riding the river path, trying the obstacle course, swimming, mountain biking and rafting the Willamette River via a bike shuttle.

●17 Nature ArtAges9-11Use your love of nature to create art. Search out the environment around you for creative materials. Discover the visual wonder of Andy Goldsworthy and take his inspiration to make natural sculptures outside.

●18 Jedi SagaAges6-8Welcome to the Jedi Training Academy. It’s time to develop your skills and learn the ways of the Force. As a part of your training, you will receive padawan robes, utility belts and your own lightsaber. Jedi masters will teach you how to protect the galaxy from injustice.

●19 Beach Forts in FlorenceAges6-11Fly kites and build forts on the wild empty beach of the North Jetty in Florence. There will be crafts, games, a visit to a local park and swimming at Amazon Pool.

●20 Larger than Life – Police/Fire & BBQAges6-11

Learn about City of Eugene Police and Fire. Tours, visits from the K-9s, bicycle safety rodeo and a barbecue celebrate our local heroes. We have also added life-sized games to add to the fun.

●21 Jedi Saga: Agents of ChaosAges9-11Young Jedi tangle with smugglers, Hutts and Sith as they race to stop Crius. Will the prophecy of destruction be fulfilled or will you and your fellow knights have the strength and courage to stop the power of the Golem?

●22 MessyAges6-8Be ready to get messy. Experiment with everyday ingredients to make them fizz, splatter and pop. You’ll make slime and gak as well as exploding chalk and a paint balloon toss to wrap up the week. Be sure to only wear clothes that can get stained and dirty.

●23 On the River – RaftingAges6-11Learn about rivers, water safety and water games. Ages 6-8

Spend an exciting week outdoors, climbing trees 3 days, hiking 1 day and spending a day rafting the Willamette.

●26 Computer Programming, BeginningAges9-11Create computer games. Using Scratch, a graphical programming language developed at MIT, learn fundamental programming concepts. No programming experience required. Bring your own laptop and mouse.

●27 Bookmaking & ComicsAges9-11Everyone has a good story to tell. Develop a storyline for your book, comic or graphic novel. Learn to use a variety of methods including drawing, painting and collage. Bind your book to create the finished product.

●28 Tabletop Role Playing GamesAges9-11Live action role playing mixes with table top games through the brilliant guidance of the original Amazon Grand Master. Help to create a unique storytelling experience full of courageous exploits and ingenious solutions.

●7 Fishing & Feasting, BeginningAges11-15Learn and practice the fine art of fishing. From casting to cooking, turn the majestic McKenzie River rainbow trout into a feast fit for a king. Cook lunch in a Dutch oven with food gathered and caught from the wild. Safety, stewardship and sustainability will accompany respect during our time in nature. All equipment provided. Ages 12+ require a fishing license.

Let’s make sharp posters, eye-catching logos and screen print t-shirts. We will use design principles of layout, balance and color. There will be field trips and a camper art show. Bring your imagination.

●9 Girls Stand-up PaddleboardOvernightAges11-13This is an all-girls stand-up paddleboarding week. The first 2 days of camp will include exploring nearby lakes. The last 3 days will be overnight camping and SUPing at a coastal lake. Required pre-trip meeting July 26 at 4 p.m. at River House Outdoor Center.

●14 Opal’s Friends Outdoor ArtsAges9-16Scout beauty outdoors and turn it into visual art and poetry. Campers will get to know Opal Whiteley, a young natural- ist from the turn of the century who had many friends from the animal kingdom. We will visit waterfalls, rivers and the ocean. Bring your sense of wonder.

●15 Jedi Saga: Agents of ChaosAges11-15Jedi find themselves wrapped up in a dangerous dilemma in the Outer Rim. A mysterious dark cult, the Hutts and an ancient prophecy are an explosive combination.

●16 Fishing & Feasting, IntermediateAges11-15If you have taken the beginning fishing camp, or have some experience and would like to learn more, this is the camp for you. Learn where the big fish hide in the river. Apply different casting techniques and knots as well as ethical treatment of this amazing natural resource. All equipment provided. Ages 12+ require a fishing license.

Fashion is our passion. Learn how to design your own cloth-ing, starting from the basics of how to use a sewing machine. We will visit local fashion designers and have a camper fashion show. Bring your creativity.

●18 Sailing, IntermediateAges11-18Advance your skills on the water. Add the jib to further maximize fun. For sailors who have completed Learn to Sail, Beginning or have some experience.

Create your own blockbuster! Campers will step into the role of director, actress/actor, or camera operator. We will shoot on location in the Eugene area and produce a short film from script to costumes to editing in one week. Bring your creative vision.

●22 Overnight River Trip –Camping on IslandsAges12-16No experience necessary. Float through the McKenzie and Willamette rivers confluence, camping two nights on islands along the way. Participants paddle inflatable kayaks, sit-on-tops and standup paddleboards. River gear, food and transportation provided. Bring your own camping gear. License needed if you want to fish. ●33 Live Action Role PlayingAges10-17Bring alive your favorite video game elements. Begin at Level 1 and grow your power as you discover a unique class system, armor, foam weapons, spells and more. Gain instruction in martial arts while engaging in exciting foam sparring.
