As I look toward travelling as a singer for a second year and all the adventures and challenges that could await me as I continue to journey across the states, I sometimes wonder why I chose to do it again. Not that I don’t love all the amazing things I have got- ten to do while being on the road and I have met and get to travel with some pretty fantastic people, but coming into my first year I was very confident that I would only do this for one year, then I would continue on with my college plan and only be a year behind my well thought out schedule for my life. The last thing I expected when joining Life Action was for God to interrupt and change the plan that I had laid out for my life, but as it is very clear now, He did. Through my first year God taught me so much, more than I could ever be able to type out into one blog post, but one of the biggest things he has and continues to teach me is that my life isn’t about me. It is something that is constantly being said by Christians and in churches but I didn’t fully understand it until I joined Life Action. If you know me you know that I absolutely love singing, I love music and I feel closest to God when I am wor- shipping him through music, but there were nights on the road that the last thing I wanted to do was get on stage and help lead peo- ple into worship through song. This month, Lesley Milligan takes over the “Pastor’s Page” for us with a
report on her year serving with Life Action Ministries and her decision to
serve with them again this fall.
As I look toward travelling as a singer for a second year and all
the adventures and challenges that could await me as I continue
to journey across the states, I sometimes wonder why I chose to

to do it. I wasn’t singing because I love it and because it makes me hap-
py, but because my main goal in life is to serve and glorify God.
The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith!” (Lk. 17:5) They went to the right person. They did not say to themselves, “I will increase my faith;” they did not cry to the minister, “Preach a comforting sermon, and increase my faith;” they did not say, “I will read such-and-such a book, and that will increase my faith.” NO, they said to the Lord, “Increase our faith.” Faith’s author can alone increase it. It is God’s work to feed faith, as well as to give it life at first; and if any of you desire to have a growing faith, go and take your burden this morning to God’s throne, crying, “Lord, increase our faith!”

A big THANK YOU to everyone who helped at the Strawberry Festival last week! It was a great time of fellowship and fun despite the heat. It was wonderful to see the congregation working to-gether to make such a special event for friends both old and new. Thank you again to the over 30 volunteers who made it possible!

Christian Community Center
1412 Hollins Street, Baltimore 212232 Tom Homans is the dir ector of this neigh-borhood outreach to children from elemen-tary school age to high school age. The center also holds Bible studies for adults and main-tains a pantry of food items and a collection of clothing to give to those who attend the center. Each August they hold two sessions of camp at Mountain View Bible Camp in Manchester, MD.
Metro-MD Youth for Christ (YFC)
8900 Belair Road, Perry Hall 21236 This group reaches out to middle school and high school aged kids. They hold after school clubs that include Bible lessons, recreation, and snacks. During the year they hold large conferences for specific ages and during the summer they sponsor camps. They also min-ister at the Hickey School.

Rev. Glen Osborn has begun a new role as minister-at-large.
Ms. Iris Maurer works at the U. of Maryland campus to reach out to Chinese students and scholars with friendship and activities that in-clude Bible study and fellowship.

Glorious Liberty “…creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God.” (Romans 8:21 NIV) This verse contains the first 11 occurrences of the Greek word eleutheria, “freedom, or lib-erty,” and defines the basic spiritual message of this splendid word. Because of sin, God has sub-jected the whole creation, animate and inanimate, to the “bondage to decay.” That is, everything is governed by a law of decay – a law of such universal scope that it is recognized as a basic law of science – the law of entropy, stipulating that everything tends to disintegrate and die.
Christ died for sin, however, and defeated death so that He will someday deliver the whole groaning creation from its bondage into the glorious freedom from decay and death that will also be enjoyed by all who received eternal life through faith in Christ.
This ultimate, perfect liberty can even now be appropriated in type and principle through looking into “the perfect law of liberty” (James 1:25 KJV), the Holy Scriptures.
When we become children of God, the Holy Spirit henceforth indwells our bodies, and “where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty (2 Corinthians 3:17 KJV).
Sometimes, however, Christians may abuse this new freedom from the law of sin and death, turning it into license and this becomes a tragic perversion of Christian liberty. “You, my brothers and sisters were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather serve one another humbly in love.” (Galatians 5:13 NIV)
While not abusing our freedom in Christ, we must nevertheless “…stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free” (Galatians 5:1 KJV), and look forward to the glorious liberty of the ages to come. A huge thank you, to all of our brothers and sisters in Christ, for all your prayers through Allison's family issues. We Praise our Dear Lord for answered prayer, and the final relief of all the stress on her and the chil-dren.

It was good to hear from a former member last week in response to one of our group emails.
Hi, Tim Boone here. Just wanted to update you on our whereabouts. June & I moved to Venice, Florida
in July 2016. Just about all is well with us. We have found a really great church here, CoastLife Church.
Pastor Jason Warman brings a powerful message every Sunday. In January I had a heart attack & had a
triple by-pass. Initially, I was also diagnosed with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). Chronic with no
cure. Gave me 3-5 years life expectancy. My pulmonologist suggested a 2nd opinion. Had consult with a
Dr .at Tampa General who is "The" lung specialist & conducts clinical trials he has designed. After re-
viewing my med records, a 2nd CT scan & lung function tests advised us that I did NOT have IPF but I
have hypersensitivity pneumonitis (HP), a form of chronic pneumonia. No meds, no clinical trial & can
look forward to a normal life expectancy. That was Great news. So I'll be oxygen for a long time until
the Drs. can determine the cause of the HP & get me on meds to combat it. I'm very ok with all of this.
And the 2nd diagnosis came after our Pastor & 3 other Church members laid hands on me & prayed. I
have had so much support & so many prayers lifted up for me. I know I'm in His hands & June & I know
we were sent to FL by Him. For what, we don't yet know but we keep praying. Any prayers for me/us
from LRPC that would be great. Anyone who may want to contact us, e-mail me
