Newsletter No.17
On the last newsletter
we celebrated the achievements of some of the children in the
cross country. Due to a computer error, Sasha
W in 5LW has also qualified for the next
round of the competition and
Arabella M from 5F gained 5th position
overall in year 5 and will now also receive a
medal. Well done to those two!
Our Year 3 children have been bringing some Christmas cheer to the
NHS this week. We have all created beautiful Christmas pictures to give
to the hospital as they are unable to decorate the hospital this
year. Thank you, Year 3, for spreading the joy of Christmas with the
EDGH I am sure that they will bring a smile to many faces!

Newsletter No.17
Attendance The attendance team would like to say a huge well done to our children for their fantastic attendance at school for terms 1 and 2. Our average attendance for terms 1 and 2 has been nearly 97%, which is significantly above the national percentage for this year. Any child with an attendance of 97% and above for term 2 will be receiving an attendance certificate and a small gift. One child in each class will also receive a £5 gift voucher (chosen ran-domly from the 97% and above attenders). We are hoping to continue this high level of attendance next term. At the end of the school year, we will giving out some amazing prizes for high attenders. The top prize will be a mini laptop and there will also be some significant cash prizes too. Please note; if your child is self-isolating, their absence will be coded as X which means that it will not affect their attendance data.
Please remember to top up your child's ParentPay account for school dinners each week.
If your child has a food allergy please make sure that school office and kitchen are aware. There is a section on our website for Chartwells and advice for how to update information. Web Link Here We are a healthy eating
school - this includes break time snacks and packed lunches.
Also please remember we are a nut and strawberry free school in addition to this we
are pepper free red bubble and raw tomato free in purple
bubble.
If you need to drop things off to the school office please use the post box at the end of the school drive or pass to a member of staff on the school gates. Please only visit the school reception if your request is urgent or you are dropping off/ collecting medication.

A HUGE thank you to
Richard Lammas at LLB Landscaping and Brick-
work for donating this
beautiful 7ft Christmas tree to our school. It
looks fantastic in the
school hall and has really helped to create a
Christmas atmosphere for
the children throughout this tricky time.
As the weather is turning colder (and wetter!) please could you ensure that your child is wearing
correct winter P.E kit on their P.E and Games days. This consists of an Ocklynge P.E T-shirt,
black tracksuit bottoms or leggings (not tights) and a red or black warm sweatshirt. Our new red
or black tracksuit is available via Sussex Uniforms, but please be assured any warm jogging
bottoms and sweatshirt of any colour will be fine to
continue to wear if this is what your child is wearing
currently. It would also be a good idea for children to also
keep a spare pair of socks, trousers and shoes in their bag
on P.E days in the event your child gets wet or muddy.
Please ensure all clothing is named. It is also school policy
that long hair is tied up for P.E and Games sessions.
