WELCOMERoll Up, Roll Up to the return of the marvellous London Wonderground at Southbank Centre! Voted Best Newcomer in the 2012 London Cabaret Awards, London Wonderground is a playground for the people with a delicious programme of cabaret, circus, music and sideshow. At its centre lies a beautiful 1920s Spiegeltent - a circular, 600 capacity performance tent that oozes charm and old world decadence. And around the Spiegeltent you’ll find sideshows, food, bars and unusual attractions.

We’re delighted to bring you LIMBO, our headline show which arrives fresh from a sold out run in Adelaide, Australia. A co-production between Underbelly, Southbank Centre and the creative producers of last year’s hit show, CANTINA, LIMBO is an infectious combination of live music, acrobatic brilliance and extraordinary feats of worldly (and otherworldly) proportions. Joining LIMBO are dozens more shows for all ages and all tastes. Make sure that you see as much as you can!

We’d like to thank our partners, Southbank Centre, and all the wonderful people that have helped with London Wonderground.

Run away to the circus this summer. We dare you...

Ed Bartlam and Charlie Wood The Ringmasters

This summer at Southbank Centre, we are delighted to welcome back the London Wonderground as part of our Festival of Neighbourhood, a celebration and exploration of the neighbourhoods we all live in, rural and urban, cities and villages. A showcase of the most vital and exciting cabaret, sideshow and circus, the programme welcomes performers from all over the world, including the thrilling hybrid circus show LIMBO, the virtuoso human beat boxer Shlomo and the subversive cabaret of The Tiger Lillies. I hope you will join us at London’s playground this summer – the London Wonderground Spiegeltent.

Jude Kelly, OBEArtistic Director, Southbank Centre

THE TIGER LILLIES: LIVE IN CONCERT FRIDAY 7 – SUNDAY 9 JUNE 9.15pm (105 mins, 16 yrs+)

The Grammy nominated, Olivier award-winning godfathers of alternative cabaret return to the Wonderground for their only London concert dates this year. Conjuring up the macabre magic of pre-war Berlin and fusing it with the savage edge of punk, The Tiger Lillies never cease to shock, surprise and entertain. ‘The execution is impeccable throughout. Phenomenal’ HHHHH Guardian ‘They create a truly extraordinary atmosphere on stage – a sort of dark gypsy cabaret shimmering with menace. The music is also gorgeously beautiful, tender and delicate – although the sweetness is almost always followed by some outrageously funny or horrible twist. It is hard to do justice to the dark poetic brilliance of the Tiger Lillies, so the best thing I can advise is that you go and see them yourselves’ HHHH Scotsman

THE FITZROVIA RADIO HOUR SUNDAY 11 AUGUST, FRIDAY 13 SEPTEMBER 11 August 5pm, 13 September 9.15pm (60 mins)

Recreating the unique spirit of 1940’s radio plays and brilliantly evoking a dinner-jacketed age of casual imperialism and stiff upper lips. Performed with cut-glass theatricality blending homage and satire, Fitzrovia mixes the chauvinist attitudes of 1940s Britain with sharp contemporary humour to produce a heady comic cocktail. Rippingly good fun!
