Introduction

Future customers will attach increasing importance to energy economy and minimal leakage losses. The generating capaci-ties of boilers and cooling systems are subdivided into seve-ral rating classes. Individual generators are connected and dis-connected depending on the loads. The generators can be shut off in order to minimize the power loss. The leakage rate (shut-

1 Simple direct mounting using a central screw. The rotary actuator can be mounted in four different positions.

2 Square stem head for form-fit attachment of the rotary actuator.

3 Identical mounting flange for all sizes.

4 Stem with two O-ring seals for a long service life.

5 Ball and stem made of stainless steel or chrome-plated brass. The ball diameter is reduced compared to the DN to enable the required torque to be achieved.

6 Together with the O-ring, the teflon seat ensures an air bubble-tight seal (closing pressure: 14 bar).

Application

Operation of ball valves.

Mode of operation

Open-closed control is effected with 1-wire control for 24 V or 230 V.The LF.. rotary actuator moves the ball valve into the operating position while simultaneously charging the emergency control spring. The factory setting for this position is the closed position of the ball valve. The ball valve is turned back into the closed position (NC = nor-mally closed) by the application of spring energy when the power supply is inter-rupted.

Application

Operation of ball valves.

Mode of operation

Open-closed control is effected with 1-wire control for 24 V or 230 V.The AFR.. rotary actuator moves the ball valve into the operating position while simultaneously charging the emergency control spring. The factory setting for this position is the closed position of the ball valve. The ball valve is turned back into the closed position (NC = normally closed) by the application of spring energy when the power supply is interrupted.

Product features

Simple direct mounting on the ball valve with the WAFR mounting kit using only one screw. The mounting position in rela-tion to the R2.. or R4.. ball valve can be selected in 90° steps (restricted selection with the R6..).

High functional reliability: The actuator is overload-proof, requires no limit switches and automatically stops when the end stop is reached (100% open) providing the nominal voltage is not interrupted.

Signalization: 0...89%, with adjustable auxiliary switch (AFR..-S only).

Note: The WAFR mounting kit is included in the scope of delivery, providing the «ball valve and rotary actuator» are ordered together.

Operation of butterfly valves.

Mode of operation

Open-closed control is effected with 1-wire control for 24 V or 230 V.The AF.. rotary actuator moves the butter-fly valve into the operating position while simultaneously charging the emergency control spring. The factory setting for this position is the closed position of the butter-fly valve. The butterfly valve is turned back into the closed position (NC = normally closed) by the application of spring energy when the power supply is interrupted.

Product features

Simple direct mounting on the mounting flange of the butterfly valve with the WD6 mounting kit using four screws (to ISO 5211). There is an NC type (factory set-ting) or an NO type (normally open, but-terfly valve fully opened when deenergi-zed), depending on the mounting position of the AF.. in relation to the mounting kit.

High functional reliability: The actuator is overload-proof, requires no limit swit-ches and automatically stops when the end stop is reached (100% open) provi-ding the power supply is not interrupted.

Flexible signalization: The AF..-S has one adjustable and one fixed auxiliary switch. They permit angles of rotation from 5% or 26% to 89% to be signalized.

Manual operation: The butterfly valve can be manually operated and locked in any position using the hand crank. It can be unlocked again either manually or automatically by energizing the nomi-nal voltage.

Note: The WD6 mounting kit is included in the scope of delivery, providing the «butterfly valve and rotary actuator» are ordered together.

Simple direct mounting on the moun-ting flange of the butterfly valve (to ISO 5211) with the WD6 mounting kit using four screws.

High functional reliability: The actua-tor is limited to a 94° angle of rotation by means of two mechanical end stops. The internal limit switches interrupt the power supply to the motor. The motor thermo-stat provides additional overload protec-tion because it also interrupts the power supply at 135 °C.

Manual operation: Turning the hand-wheel clockwise closes the butterfly valve, while turning it counterclockwise opens the valve. The handwheel does not move while the motor is starting. The stem (butterfly valve) remains in position until the power supply is energized (cont-rol takes priority).

Position indication: The indicator is on top of the actuator inside the sight glass.

Mechanical angle of rotation limiting

The mechanical angle of rotation limiting is set to 92° at the factory.The handwheel turns the planetary gear by means of a worm wheel. The gear is stopped mechanically by the two adjus-ting screws 1 and 2 (1 1/2 turns of the adjusting screws correspond to a 2° angle of rotation).The two limit switches (LS2/LS1) are set to a 90° angle of rotation. They must always switch off the motor before the angle of rotation is mechanically limited.
