DEDICATIONS: DIVISION MADDIE GARCIA LOOKING FORWARD FORWARD MARCH Following in his father’s footsteps by joining the military has been a lifelong plan and dream for senior Matthew Paul. Taking classes such as ROTC and different sciences help prepare Paul for the expected trials that come with joining the military. Throughout Paul’s life he has been looking forward and working towards his goal with unwavering determination. “During highschool I’ve taken some medical classes for basic knowledge of combat medicine, I’m also in ROTC which gives me a little bit more prep for military standards and all that. My dad was the first in the family to join the military and that’s really the lifestyle I’ve known forever and I think it is a brave and noble career path that not a lot of people choose,” Paul said. ALWAYS MOVING FORWARD From wanting to be an astronaut, to a lawyer, to majoring in archeology, geology, and more, senior Annabelle Carozza has worked hard to find the right career path for her. She has always been interested in challenging career paths and plans on applying herself to multiple majors in college to set herself up for success. “As a kid, I really really wanted to be an astronaut, which is one of the things a kid would want to be but when I got older it gradually changed to wanting to be a lawyer. But so many people told me that that would not be the best position for me because I would be too nice for a lawyer. But then in middle school I did a project and I really got into archeology and anthropology and I’ve kinda stuck with that. Now I’m hoping I can triple major in college and then get a career in that,” Carozza said. FORWARD AND BACK Some friendships are meant to last, as senior Joshua Talley and senior Justin Ruhaak demonstrate. They’ve been friends since back in middle school and since then, they have been inseparable. Both consider each other family and continue to provide support to one another no matter of any trials moving forward. “On the first day of middle school our lockers were almost right next to each other and as soon as Justin and I saw each other something just kind of clicked and since then we’ve just been together like no one else. The best thing about our friendship is that he’s just my brother, give us something to do and we’ll do it together,” Talley said. PUT YOUR BEST FOOT FORWARD Looking for an activity that paralleled her values, senior Angel Williams joined dance team halfway through high school and has been loving it ever since. The ability to work together as a team and give every member an equal chance to shine is important to Wil- liams, making dance team one of the highlights of her highschool career. “I’ve been dancing since my junior year. I originally did volleyball but I wanted to change it up so I tried out last year and I love it so I’ve continued it. Dance team helps girls with similar skills all work together instead of remaining hidden under like a hierarchy. I like everyone on the dance team and I like how everyone is equal, it makes it a lot more enjoyable than other sports,” Williams said. and dream for senior Matthew Paul. Taking classes such as ROTC and different sciences help prepare Paul for the expected trials that come with joining the military. Throughout Paul’s life he has been looking forward and working towards his goal with unwavering determination.
