Loss Control InternshipPREPARATION | PREVENTION | RESULTSRequirements to manage workplace safety and ensure the safekeeping of co-op’s resources increase constantly. You are accountable for managing the procedures required to protect employees and the bottom line. The Loss Control Internship (LCI) program gives you the preparation and skills needed to successfully manage challenging safety and loss control issues. From environmental issues, to disaster recovery, emergency procedures and workplace violence – you’ll be prepared to take preventative measures and corrective action.

WHAT’S IT ALL ABOUT?The Loss Control Internship program consists of a series of four, one-week seminars held at the world-class Fluno Center for Executive Education in Madison, Wisconsin. Attendees gain invaluable information on areas crucial to loss control operations, including:

Regulations affecting electric power generation, transmission and distribution. “Best Practices” for ensuring safety performance. Practical communication techniques for influencing others to manage the associated hazards. Collaborative exercises and small, group projects on contemporary issues and topics. Networking opportunities and sharing of resources with other safety professionals. Information and the voice of experience from industry experts.

BONUS: PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATIONComplete the Loss Control Internship program as the first step in the Certified Loss Control Professional (CLCP) designation. Becoming a CLCP merits recognition by your fellow safety professionals and the electrical utility industry as a whole. Eligibility requires completion of all four LCI seminars in sequence, 70 percent or higher on quizzes and completion of an individual project reviewed by the LCI Certification Panel. A final requirement includes attending a 30-hour OSHA compliance course for general industry

WHAT’S IN IT FOR ME?You and your co-op succeed when you complete the LCI program and obtain your CLCP designation.

Improve your ability to protect your company’s employees and to enhance the co-op’s bottom line. Gain a national network of safety professionals who serve as mutual resources. Save resource costs by gaining access to an online resource library of certification projects with an estimated value over $60,000.
