Water conservation has become anessential practice in all regions, even in

areas where water seems abundant.

For this reason our students made aresearch about using of water in theirfamilies.

They made calculations using water pricein our town.

After their studies they suggested ways forsaving water and money.

During to these calculations ourstudents suggested several ways for

water saving in their families: Don't leave the tap running while you clean your teeth or

shave. If you leave the tap running you could be wastingup to 10 litres per minute.

Repair dripping taps. One drop per second is a waste ofup to 12000 litres per year.

Take a shower instead of a bath and you will use half asmuch water.

Only run your washing machine and dishwasher whenyou have a full load.

Store tap water in a bottle in the fridgerather than running the water every time

you want a cold drink.

When washing dishes by hand, fill onesink or basin with soapy water. Quicklyrinse under a slow-moving stream from thetap.

Install a dual-flush toilet - then if necessaryyou can use short flushs for a pee and alonger flush for the rest.

Try to do one thing each day thatwill result in a savings of water.

Don't worry if the savings isminimal. Every drop counts. Andevery person can make a

difference. So tell your friends,neighbours to "Turn it Off" and"Keep it Off".
