Imola e il suo circondario di Comuni offrono un territorio unico, apprezzato per la presenzadi Motori, Musica, Enogastronomia, Arte, Rocche e Benessere. Le tradizioni e gli ambienti sisono conservati e il progresso tecnologico di questa nostra Terra dei motori si evoluto nelrispetto delle nostre usanze. Queste terre sono al centro di un incrocio di irripetibili passioni.Qui, tra Maranello e Rimini, al confine tra Emilia e Romagna, ogni desiderio pu trovarerisposta. Ciascuno decida come conoscere, gustare, vivere e scoprire le nostre terre ospitali,assecondando la propria passione di gastronauta, musicofilo, ciclista, amante dell'arte, deimotori, del relax...o scegliendo di vivere appassionatamente tutte le cose insieme. Una variet di sapori turistici che s'intrecciano grazie alla S.T.A.I. (Societ Turismo AreaImolese): una societ consortile fondata nel 1996 alla quale aderiscono circa 100 soci, tra pub-blici e privati. Fra questi le 10 municipalit (Borgo Tossignano, Casalfiumanese, Castel delRio, Castel Guelfo, Castel San Pietro Terme, Dozza, Fontanelice, Imola, Medicina, Mordano)e le strutture ricettive pi qualificate. E non tutto, perch dal 2002 esiste anche l'esclusivoclub di prodotto MotorSite, costituito fra Imola e Modena per gliappassionati del settore, per un vero turismo nei luoghi simbolo dellatradizione motoristica italiana. Sono riportati nella presente pubblica-zione i pi importanti eventi culturali, musicali, enogastronomici esportivi che vengono riproposti ogni anno. Fornisce dunque utili sug-gerimenti anche per il programma degli appuntamenti del 2011.

A Crossroads of passions

Imola and the towns located within its district represent a special area, featuring Motors, Music, Wine &

Food, Art, Castles and Wellbeing. Traditions and the environment have been preserved in this Land of

Motors and technology has developed while respecting local habits.

These lands are a crossroads of unique passions. Here, from Maranello to Rimini, on the border between

Emilia and Romagna, every desire can be satisfied. Everyone can taste, learn about, enjoy and discover

our welcoming area following ones passion for food, music, cycling, art, motors, relaxation... or he/she can

choose to passionately enjoy all these things together. This tasty mix of tourist opportunities is offered

by S.T.A.I. (Society for Tourism in Imolas Area), a consortium set up in 1996 which today gathers 100

public and private partners including 10 municipalities (Borgo Tossignano, Casalfiumanese, Castel del

Rio, Castel Guelfo, Castel San Pietro Terme, Dozza, Fontanelice, Imola, Medicina and Mordano) and the

best accommodation facilities. In addition to this, the MotorSite project was launched in 2002 to offer

to racing enthusiasts a number of itineraries through the legendary places of the Italian racing history

located from Imola to Modena. This brochure features the main yearly cultural, musical, sport, wine and

food initiatives. It therefore provides updated information about 2011 events.

ACastel Guelfo il centro storico, con i palazzi Malvezzi e del Podest, ancora racchiuso dallemura del castello, mentre Castel San Pietro Terme, tipicamente bolognese, percorso dacaratteristici portici. A Dozza, affreschi realizzati da firme illustri durante la Biennale"Muro Dipinto" colorano le vie del borgo. Il centro di Medicina, Comune dal 1155 pervolont di Federico Barbarossa, conserva un aspetto urbanistico del sei-settecento.Allingresso del centro storico di Mordano svetta una bella coppia di torrioni, mentre adImola, l'aristocratico centro cittadino attraversato dalla Via Emilia, sulla quale si affaccia-no importanti palazzi del '700. Il territorio imolese vanta un ricco cartellone di eventi tea-trali e musicali. Although major events made us familiar with the large public, this area also offers treasures away from spotlightsand cameras. Historic centres, noble residences and castles welcome the most demanding visitor. The Municipalitiesof this territory are waiting to be discovered. Castel Guelfos old town centre, surrounded by ancient walls, featureshistorical buildings like Palazzo Malvezzi and Palazzo del Podest, while Castel San Pietro Termes streets are sha-dowed by arcades like Bolognas ones. Dozza, a small hilly village, is decorated with frescoes made by renownedartists taking part into the Painted Wall Biennial Exhibition. Medicina was established as a municipality by order ofFrederick I Barbarossa in 1155. Its town centre still retains a 17th -18th century urban layout. The entranceway ofMordanos old town centre features two nice towers, while Imolas aristocratic city centre is cut across by the ViaEmilia, an ancient road scattered with remarkable 18th century residences.Imolas territory features a thick calendar of top-quality theatre and music events held throughout the year. It offersa wide choice of events including the concerts organized by Circolo della Musica, Emilia Romagna Festival and therenowned Accademia Pianistica, as well as music festivals such as Imola in Musica and events focused on jazz andblues.

Palazzo e Ponte Alidosi di Castel del RioIl fortificato Palazzo Alidosi (XVI sec.), sede del Comune, racchiudeil rinascimentale "cortiletto delle tre fontane", con loggia sorrettada tre colonne e affreschi del pittore Giuseppe Pasini. Al suo internosi pu visitare il Museo del Castagno ed il Museo della Guerra, conoltre un migliaio di reperti bellici delle due guerre mondiali. Il pianointerrato ospita la Cantinaccia, un luogo di accoglienza turistica,vendita, degustazione dei prodotti del territorio. Il Ponte Alidosi,autentico capolavoro di ingegneria civile, proclamato monumentonazionale nel 1897, possiede una struttura a schiena dasino conununica arcata di 42 metri ed una freccia di 19 metri.

Alidosi Palace and Bridge in Castel del RioNowadays, the fortified Palazzo Alidosi (16th century) is the seat of the Town Hall.Inside you may visit the Renaissance-style "courtyard of the three fountains", witha loggia sustained by three columns and frescoes painted by Giuseppe Pasini.Moreover, the building houses the Chestnut-Tree Museum and the War Museumwith over one thousand artifacts from the First and Second World Wars. TheCantinaccia, a tourist information point where local products can be purchasedand tasted, is located in the underground vaults.The Alidosi Bridge, a real masterpiece of civil engineering, has been a nationalmonument since 1897. Rocca di DozzaLa Rocca, perfettamente armonizzata con il resto del borgo, fuvoluta da Caterina Sforza, che la riedific alla fine del XV secolosulle precedenti rovine di fortezze bolognesi del 1250 ca. I bolo-gnesi Campeggi la trasformarono da edificio puramente militarein palazzo signorile sul finire del 500. La Rocca pass in seguito,per via ereditaria, alla famiglia Malvezzi-Campeggi che vi dimorfino al 1960. Da visitare gli appartamenti del Piano Nobile, ilSalone, i salottini e le camere da letto, la cucina, le prigioni, lestanze di tortura, i camminamenti sulle torri. Al secondo piano sitrovano il Centro Studi e Documentazione del Muro Dipinto e laCollezione Mascellani, mentre nei sotterranei vi ha sedel'Enoteca Regionale dell' Emilia Romagna.

Dozzas CastleThe Castle, harmoniously integrated with the village, was reconstructed byCaterina Sforza in the late 15th century on the ruins of a previous Bolognesefortress built aroud 1250. This military building was turned into a noble resi-dence by the Campeggi family from Bologna in the late 16th century. Later onthe castle was inherited by the Malvezzi-Campeggi family who lived in it until1960. Worth a visit are the Main Hall, sitting rooms and bedrooms on the firstfloor and the kitchen, the prisons, and the torture chamber on the ground floor,as well as the communication trenches and the towers. The upper floors housethe Painted Wall Research and Documentation Centre and the MascellaniCollection while Enoteca Regionale dellEmilia Romagna is located in theunderground vaults.

Rocca Sforzesca di ImolaLa rocca, la cui costruzione risale al 1261, uno dei massimi esempidi fortezza rinascimentale della regione. Numerosi sono gli ospiti cheha accolto: da Niccol Machiavelli a Caterina Sforza, da CesareBorgia a Leonardo da Vinci. Proprio questultimo, dallalto delle suetorri, disegn nel 1502 la Pianta di Imola, oggi custodita nella RoyalLibrary di Londra. Ad impreziosire le raccolte museali troviamo unarara collezione di armi antiche ed un prestigioso allestimento diceramiche medievali e rinascimentali. Percorribili sono anche i sug-gestivi camminamenti.

Imolas Sforza CastleBuilt in 1261, it is a remarkable example of Renaissance castle inthe Region. Muro Dipinto di DozzaLa Biennale del Muro Dipinto, che Dozza ospita da quasi mezzo secolo, testimonia la voca-zione artistica di questo piccolo borgo medievale, uno dei cento Borghi pi Belli dItalia,in particolare il suo impegno nel promuovere le espressioni dellarte contemporanea. A Dozza larte si fa paesaggio urbano ed arreda i muri delle case, le strade e le piazze,inondando di luce e stili diversi ogni angolo ed aprendosi a squarci di colori improvvisi.Si tratta di un vero e proprio museo a cielo aperto, in cui si possono ammirare oltre uncentinaio di opere collezionate negli anni e realizzate da nomi prestigiosi dellarte con-temporanea quali Sebastian Matta, Remo Brindisi, Riccardo Schweizer, Ennio Calabria,Cesare Sughi, Norma Mascellari, Tano Pisano, Luca Alinari. Dozzas Painted WallThe Painted Wall, a Biennial Festival of Contemporary Art held in Dozza for almostfifty years, shows the artistic vocation of this small medieval hamlet (one of the hun-dred Most beautiful hamlets of Italy) and in particular its commitment to promoteall the expressions of contemporary art. In Dozza, art blends with street furniture as itcovers the walls of the houses, streets and squares, making every corner brighter andoffering suggestive views. It is a real open-air gallery where one can admire worksby Sebastian Matta, Remo Brindisi, Riccardo Schweizer, Ennio Calabria, Cesare Sughi,Norma Mascellari, Tano Pisano, Luca Alinari and many others. Since 2007, the nearby town of Toscanella also hosts street art performances rela-ting the writers world. This artistic event, which will soon celebrate its 50th anni-versary, has deeply changed Dozzas appearance. Some frescoes and the sketches ofthe wall paintings are kept in the Painted Wall Research and Documentation Centreinside the castle.

Sagra dei Maccheroni e Festa della PolentaMaccheroni and Polenta FestivalsBorgo Tossignano 8 Marzo 2011 / March 2011Fin dal 1622 a Tossignano si celebra la Festa della Polenta, nata per ricordare ilgiorno in cui il governatore distribu polenta e vino alla popolazione dopo un perio-do di carestia. Nel 1901 invece, in seguito ad uno sgarbo subito durante la Festa,alcuni giovani di Borgo decisero di boicottarla creandone unaltra: la Sagra deimaccheroni. Da quel giorno vengono dunque organizzate in contemporanea ladegustazione della polenta al rag a Tossignano ed i maccheroni conditi con carnebovina, salsiccia, lardo e parmigiano nella piazza di Borgo.

The Polenta Festival has been held in Tossignano since 1622 to celebrate the dayin which a local governor handed out polenta and wine to the inhabitants after afamine. In 1901, a rude act suffered during the Festival led a few youngsters fromBorgo to boycott it by inventing another one: the Maccheroni Festival. Ever since onthe same day it is possible to taste both polenta with rag in Tossignano andmaccheroni seasoned with beef, sausage, lard and Parmigiano cheese in thesquare of Borgo.

The facility, redesigned according to Hermann Tilkes innovative solutions, will stage breathtaking events for car andbike lovers (SBK World Championship, Grand Touring Cars Championship, the historic CRAME trade show, WTTC, just to mention a few).The upgrading works, carried out in compliance with the highest automation and safety standards, mainly involved the pits (32 indoorgarages, 100 m each, which can be joined together in groups of 2, 3 and 6), the press room (about 1850 m) and the long TamburelloBend, now definitely faster than before, thanks to a number of semi-bends to the right flanking the row of the new pits.

Ne fanno parte il radiotele-scopio Croce del Nord e la parabola da 32 metri, due strumenti con cui pos-sibile indagare le profondit pi remote del cosmo. Il primo realizzato secon-do il principio delle Croci di Mills (due file perpendicolari di antenne che map-pano lo spazio), mentre il secondo svolge un ruolo importante nello studio dicomete, di sistemi planetari extrasolari e di asteroidi potenzialmente pericolo-si per la Terra. It includes the Croce del Nord radiotelescope and a 32-metre parabola designed to peer into the most remote depths ofthe universe.
