Reside the oldest standing home and the first community in Benton Harbor. The Josephine Morton Memorial Museum at Morton Hill.

The Morton Hill Improvement Association will implement the first phase of the beautification project on a row of small cottage on N. Hull Ave. The project goal is to inject a sense of community pride by empowering residents to take the lead in beautifying Morton Hill side by side with the greater community. Enhancing our historic and cottage charm by:

• Creating a cottage theme paint campaign

• Teach youth how to build flower boxes , Adirondacks chairs, and picnic tables

• Grow and plant ornamental grasses, maintenance friendly land and street scaping with outdoor art elements.

• Work with Morton Hill Elementary School / Youth mentoring programs character building / and volunteering projects/ provide community service opportunity for youth and greater community.

Also in the first phase we clean up alleys anchored to Hull ave in the target areas, And to purchase two lots and transform them to a community garden with the hope of creating a farmers market for the Morton Hill area with one parcel, and to create flower garden park with outdoor art, stone paths and benches. Making empty lots family friendly.

The Second phase of the beatification project is to focus on the homes on Territorial. Breathing life into one of the city’s main veins. The third phase will focus on the homes on main street that border the Morton Hill neighborhood and welcome visitors entering into the city via 94 business loop.

The Morton Hill Improvement Association plan to design a beautiful welcome sign to welcome visitor to the neighborhood.

The big vision is to restore the personal pride to transform Morton Hill to a community of cozy front porches , picket fences and backyard retreats.

If we restore the personal pride by working together side by side with our neighboring communities, we have everything we need right here in Berrien County, our greater community to get it done.
