Dear Australia

I wasn’t here for the fires.

In the flood we were stranded in a small group of houses then we had to move to a higher house to escape the rising water. Then when we needed to get food we had to trudge through 2km of steep rough bush to one of our cars that was parked at the road. But the road was blocked and we could only get a few metres. So, we went back and asked our neighbours for food.

Then the flood finished and the COVID-19 started. At first, we could get food and go to school. But soon after that people started panic buying. We are a big family so we could not get all the things we needed. Soon after that social distancing started. Then the Government told us to stay home if we could. So, me and my family stayed home and we learnt with resource packs that we got from school and the internet. It was really fun and I could finish at 11 o’clock. After a bit we got to go back to school but we still had to keep a distance.

Now everything is fine.
