Bar code: always on the front of the front of the magazine as advertisements are always on the back page.

Splash: Main story,headline and images

Cover lines: give an insight to one of the stories within the magazine in a short snappy way to make the consumer want to know what the content will be within the article.

Web address: to show the reader that there is an online version of the magazine.

Box-out: this makes each story stand out as they become more eye catching

Pull quote: to intrigue the consumer so that they want to read the article
