Food Web

Last week you created 3 food chains in 3 different Biomes. (Taiga, desert, grassland, rainforest, tundra, deciduous forest). Choose ONE biome and create a FOOD WEB that includes AT LEAST the following:

• 2 producers • 8 consumers (including: herbivores, omnivores, and carnivores)- LABEL ALL • 2 decomposers

You can always add more…J ** NOTE: Please use a DIFFERENT food web than the one you did on the Nearpod.

You may choose to complete this using:

• Notebook/printer paper and pencil/colored pencils • Poster paper • Sidewalk chalk on your driveway • Digitally using office 365 • Use pictures and connect the web using yarn. • BE CREATIVE, if you have other ideas, check with your teacher.

WHEN YOU FINISH… TAKE A PICTURE AND SEND IT TO YOUR TEACHER! J

Health component; Remember sleep is an important part of maintaining a healthy lifestyle and helps the body’s immune system work more efficiently. Make sure to get 8-10 hours of sleep each night. Also remember screen time should be limited before bedtime as the blue light that is emitted from these screens can delay the release of sleep-inducing melatonin, increase alertness, and reset the body's internal clock (or circadian rhythm) to a later schedule.

Color and Printmaking There are so many ways to create with printmaking. This is one idea some of you have tired in art class. You will need: water-based markers, white copy paper, one permanent marker,a pencil and water in a spray bottle, a sponge or washcloth. You can select ONE of these household supplies to color on as your ‘plate’: 4 x6 piece of aluminum foil, small sandwich baggie, plastic grocery bag or a dinner plate.

First draw a simple object on ½ of your white paper (tear or cut the copy paper in half to allow more prints) in pencil first to get it “right” and then trace it with a permanent marker. You might draw a bird, an insect, a flower, a heart, airplane, hot air balloon, a smiley face, or whatever is in your head today J Next, color the printing plate with water-based markers anyway you wish. Some ideas: rainbow order, sunburst, all warm colors or all cool colors or your own color choices. It will color a little different on the slick surface you have selected but don’t stress too much on this because it will all come together in the end. Now, the paper needs to be slightly moist so you can take a sponge and wet the

sponge, squeeze it out and press the damp sponge onto the paper you drew the image on with permanent marker.

Two other ideas: you can lightly spray the paper with some water or use a sponge. Place the dampened paper, drawing side down ON TOP of the colored plate and gently rub the back of the paper with the side of your hand (or side of marker) to make sure you have pressed all those colors onto your paper! Lift the paper up slowly and boom- a beautiful tie-dyed look print!

Wash cloth and dinner plate “plate” Finish Prints You can wipe off the colored plate and repeat this process again and again making cool prints you can let dry and use to make cards or to just enjoy. Send your artwork to me to see your prints! Mrs. Hames
