Casino night
An event co-sponsored by Corinthians and LPYC turned out to be a blast. The buffet was excellent, the games and the décor were very authentic. Full attendance and fine entertainment added pizzazz to a fun evening. Two Corinthians won the two top prizes for the most money won. Fader Reichard won #1 prize and Barbara Fielden walked away with #2 prize. Following this event, several attendees plan to attend Gamblers Anonymous intervention meetings.

Commodore’s Report: by Al Tupek
I have to admit, bowling night was lots of fun. Many of us hadn’t bowled for many years, but that meant we all cheered louder for every strike and spare. Thanks Soraia! We had a great turnout for Casino night at the club. No one lost their shirt and several came away with some great prizes. Thanks Karen for working with the Yacht Club as co-hosts. As of this writing, we are still planning the Boca Lake raft out at the end of January. Hope the weather cooperates this time. We now have a Facebook page – Lighthouse Point Corinthians. If you’re on Facebook, you can join. Please add your pictures and stories so we
can show others the fun we have. Woohoo!
Rear Commodore’s Report: by Lucy Feit
February looks to be a busy and fun month for Corinthian activities. We start out with the General Membership Meeting on February 2nd, hosted by Linda Parent and Bonnie Ducharme, to celebrate the Chinese New Year. Be sure to come along in your best Chinese or casual attire. Please remember there is an open table available by contacting Gina, so you can sit with some different members. February 10th 's Men's fishing Tournament and Gal's luncheon has been postponed. The new date will be announced later.
Our Commodore's Cruise to Cuba and the Cayman Islands begins on Valentine's Day, February 14th. Be sure to bring along something Red to wear that evening. Please note that there are two formal evenings on this cruise. February 22nd is our monthly Information and Board of Governors' meetings . Also, don't forget the Ship Store is on February 22nd so you can get all your Corinthian Gear. Karen is looking for some assistance with the February 23rd Cooking and Mixology Class Luncheon. Please let her know if you can help out. If you are interested in assisting with any event we offer, please feel free to contact me! We are always looking for help with our great events and it is a good way to get to know other Corinthians.
Membership Report: by Leslie Baron
After a very short retirement I have returned to the Board of Governors
as your newly elected Governor, with my role being the Membership
Chairperson. I look forward to working with the Membership Team but
there is room for more volunteers to help us recruit and welcome new
Corinthians. If this is something you would like to do, please feel free to
contact me. Yes, getting new Corinthians is always a challenge but one
I welcome. Kindly take a few moments to consider helping us with this responsibility.

What a wonderful night of fun and fellowship! 36 Corinthians attended the Bowling night on January 11, some of us were cheerleaders and others showed their amazing bowling skills on the lanes. We even had some Corinthians who brought their own bowling ball and shoes! The food was delicious, and we all had a ball. The prize recipients were: Al Tupek - Highest Scorer, Fred Krieger - Best Sportsman, Michael Baron - Best Cheerleader

Due to the absence of the member whose number was
drawn at the Thursday, January 18th Info meeting Pot of
Gold drawing, the next Pot of Gold drawing on February
22nd 2018 will increase the Pot to $400.00.
To win, one member of the membership must be present
at the Info meeting. You can’t win if you don’t come.
A second, albeit non monetarily profitable advantage of attending our Info
meetings is the certainty of having a fun get together with your friends and
learning about the past and upcoming cruises, events and the direction in
which our Commodore and our Board of Governors are taking our club in
2018.
May we all sail in calm weather during the coming year and may we
experience fun, comradery, good health and good fortune during the entire
2018 season.

Submit Your “Stuff” Notice to members, who chair events, take pictures or organize our cruises.
The Bridge, the Board of Governors and our membership owe you big thank you and great deal of appreciation for
your contribution of much time and effort for our common benefit. The job of the chairperson, and cruise leader is
not complete until a short write up of the highlights of the event are encapsulated in a few words written by them
and submitted to the editorial committee.
The writeup can be mailed to [email protected] or it can be delivered to Mario.
Many of us take pictures on our cellphones. Pictures deemed of interest to our membership, will be considered for
publication, even when they are not taken at Corinthian affairs. Mario will accept your pictures on the original
camera card, any disc and any electronic delivery. Call him and he will arrange for transfer of your pictures.
Before publication, space and time permitting, we will attempt to improve clarity, contrast and color of the pictures.
Pictures will appear in the new proposed section, “Seen Around and About”.
The editorial committee would like to invite all our members to participate in the submitting of articles for inclusion in
the MS, if the articles are judged by the editorial committee to be of interest to our members, they will be included in
the publication.
Ideally, we would publish the February MS and have it in our members physical possession on or before February
first. The above is true for any of the monthly MS publications. To make this deadline possible, we need to allow for
a few steps, beginning with the editing of pictures and ending with the delivery by the US Postal Service.
The entire production cycle takes about 10 calendar days. Because some of our various cruises and other
happenings occur in the last two weeks of the month, we will occasionally miss the goal of the first day of the month
for the then current month’s publication.
In order to not having to jump through loops to meet the ideal delivery date, we ask all contributors to submit all material to [email protected] on or before the 22nd of the month preceding the publication month
