Blitzschlag '19 Report
Rajasthan's biggest and most popularcollege festival, Blitzschlag'19 was organized
at Malaviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur. A three-day extravaganza
from the 31st January to 2nd February 2019 was organized by Creative Arts and
Cultural Society, touched the lives of all who were involved and visited the fest.
The grand endeavor was turned into realities, under the guidance of Director Prof
UdaykumarYaragatti, Dean (SW) Tarush Chandra, Associate Dean (CACS&
AA) Lava Bhargava,and Coordinator (CACS)Arun Kumar Vermawho were
ably assisted by the staff and the core team of CACS student council. With a
thunderous line-up of cultural events and competitions topped with engaging
workshops, Blitzschlag'19 was crowd pleasing to every circle of students. The
event witnessed a footfall of approximately 4,000 students.
On 31stJanuary 2019, BLITSCHLAG’19, the annual cultural fest commenced
with the blessings of God and lighting of the lamp by our teachers and the
core team at the inauguration ceremony.
The spectacular and most awaitedDay1 of BLITZSCHLAG’ 19 unfolded with a
warm welcome to all the teams who came from various other collegesgraced the
occasion. Keeping up the ardor of the pronitesto an all-time high, as the night saw
the curtains falling over Blitzschlag’19, EDM Night made the crowd of MNIT
dance to beats of most popular DJ in the country, Progressive Brothers, an
electronic music duo band which performed at India’s biggest electronic music
festivals like Sunburn. With the high energy, DJ sets and brands of music, the two
energetic souls speeded the wildfire across the scene. This visual treat made the
night an unforgettable one! The night wasignited byRamba–Samba, a fierce
dancing competition. Various colleges came up with their best dance troops to
make the event a huge success.
After the enthralling dance performances, ’PANACHE’ the fashion show marked
the beginning of second day of Blitz 2k19, where fashion divas and handsome
hunks from renowned colleges set the pace for it. With their stupendous
performances and wonderfulattires, participants stole the spectator’s heart. Mrs.
India 2018 Royal Beauty and Pride of Rajasthan, Twinkle Patodia, Mr. India
2017 Men’s Physique and Mr. Rajasthan, Mr.RohitRupaniand Model and
influencer, Ms.Rupali Sharma were the esteemed judges and attraction of the
evening. The event took eyes of audience when our honorableDirector Professor
and faculty members walked on ramp for the first time.
Our honorable Director Prof.UdaykumarYaragatti and Prof. Tarush Chandra, Mrs.
Kalpana Pandit and Dr. Madhu Agarwal accompanied the group in their final walk.
It not only pleased the huge gathering but also catalyzed the hidden sparks of
fashion in the admirers of the event.
BLITZSCHLAG'19organised a celebrity night on third day evening with a living
legend, Javed Ali from Delhi. He is more than an artist, television presenter and an
amazing playback singer and an extraordinary human being. For his distinguished
work and outstanding contribution, he was conferred the IIFA award in 2009 in
The Best Male Playback Singer category and Screen Awards in 2012 for the best
playback singer and many more along with a long list of nominations.A versatile
singer who sings in other languages like Bengali, Urdu and the list is endless.
Moreover, this popular singer held the audiencespellbound at UN along with
maestro, A.R. Rahman to celebrate Independence Day. The audience was
thoroughly enthralled by his mesmerizing performance and his magical sufi songs
showered peace. The multitude of the Blitzschlag’19 extravaganza touched the
highest notes with the young heartthrobgracing the fest with his melodies. With his
broad vocal range and versatility of famous Bollywood songs, he swayed the hearts
of audience. It was an enjoyable musical evening with such an exemplarymusician.
All the three days packed with numerous competitions, workshops and of course,
exciting pronites were enjoyed thoroughly by the students.
As the diverse colors of rainbow enhance the magnificence of the sky, so do the
societies of MNIT that made the days and evenings shimmer. With their unique
flairs, being under the umbrella of BLITZSCHLAG, the events left their
everlasting and impeccable impact on the mind of the Jaipurites.
DRAMATICS SOCIETY:
The Dramatics society of Malaviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur
organized events in the college fest Blitzschlag 2k18, 'SPOOF' was held on first
day of the fest , where the participants displayed theirhumorous talent through their
acts of imitating different movie scenes with their own humorous input.
'Tamasha' and 'Advitya' were held on second day of the fest. In 'Tamasha', 9 teams
participated presenting Nukkad Nataks based on various social issues, among
which Lady Harding Medical college, DU stood first mesmerizing the audience
with their performance, focusing upon depression. Hereafter, 'Advitiya' the mono
act competition was held where various individuals from both MNIT as well as
other colleges displayed their forte in the field of drama.
The last event 'Rang Bhoomi' was organised on the last day of the festival, where
several exhilarating stage plays were presented in which Ramjas college, DU stood
first and second position was bagged by MNIT .
FILM SOCIETY:
The film festival organised by MNIT, Film and Photography Club was an
international level film festival and the entries received from all over the world. It
was a 3-day fest during which the film entries were made to go through screenings
with final screening on 2nd February 2019. The results were completely rational
and finalized by honored personalities of the film industries themselves.
The fest also included a talk show with our main speakers Mr.Akash Chhabra,
Filmmaker, Founder FDCR and alpine creation, Mr. Puneet Khatri, Founder
and president FDCR and Mr. Ajay Sharma, Producer, Filmmaker, Ex-
producer with DD news. The interactive session was held at NeetiSabhaghar
which brimmed us with all the important knowledge regarding film making.The
festival was a huge success with fair amount of attendees of the event. The winners
were honored with the prizes by the jury members, the speakers themselves. The
panels were given a token of thanks by the General Secretary of the club. The long
term hard work of the club paid off well.
MUSIC AND DANCE SOCIETY:
THE VOICE CHOICE
The overwhelming response from the audiences set the evidence of our successful
music event. On demand by the students, Music & SPIC MACAY Society
organized a musical event during Blitzschlag 2019 by Shri Vikas Gupta & Tabla
artist.Vikas Gupta is a renown sitar artist and the event turned out to be a huge
success. Event was held in MINI AUDI on the second day of the event, 1st of
February. Around 200 people who attended the event were mesmerized by the
glamourous performance.Mementoes were given to artists by dean,Prof. Tarush
Chandra at the end of the event.
Furthermore, the instrumental songs presented in the competition added even more
zest to the event.
SOLO DANCE AND RAMBHA SAMBHA:
Blitzschlag Eve is incomplete without the power pack treasure of dances. The
dances that highlight life, strength, and a different story of its own, made the
audience to watch in awe how one can turn imagination into reality. At VLTC
lecture gate, the aura of western dance (solo) and Break free set the ground on fire.
The event saw competition from among 20 colleges in Jaipur including JECRC,
SKIT, AMITY Jaipur and Maharani Engineering Girl’s College. The crowd
consisted of almost 250 people all standing in a circle around the speakers.
Rambha Samba was one of the most scintillating events being enjoyed by the
viewers, held on 31st January 2019, on the first day of Blitzschlag 2019, at the
football ground from 5pm to 8pm. Ramba Samba was a hip-hop group dancing
competition which had huge participation of 17 teams from Delhi, Chandigarh,
Ajmer, and Jaipur.PEC University, Punjab won the first prize worth 40000 INR
along with a trophy and certificates, they also got Buskers dance academy’s studio
for three hours for a videoshoot as well as 50% off on all their dance courses. The
2nd and 3rd prize was bagged by Sparda, Delhi, and Banasthali, Jaipur each
winning a cash prize of 25,000 and 15,000 INR respectively. The other finalists got
apple vouchers worth 10,000 rupees.
PHOTOGRAPHY:
The photography section of Film & Photography club organised Moments’19 - The
Annual Photography Competition cum Exhibition. Total of 4 competitions and 1
photography workshop was organised -
‘MOMENTS’, which is an exhibition cum competition of creative & innovative
photograph. Entries for competition were invited from all the reputed engineering
and architectural colleges in India and outside of India. Top 110 photographs were
shortlisted for exhibition in pre-final jury among 3500 entries. Final jury
announced 3 photos from each category of total 10 categories as winners.
1. ONLINE EVENT
It was the event for the candidates to displaytheir talent of photography
skills. The need was to click pictures through a mobile or through a DSLR.
The event was an on the spot competition. There were about 70-75 photo
entries which were received.
2. BLITZSCHLAG SELFIE CONTEST
In this event, Candidates had to send their photo entries along with the
respective genres. The photographs were uploaded on film and photography
page of Facebook and the winners were declared based on Point Rule.
3. MOBILE AND DSLR PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP
The film and photography club MNIT Jaipur in association with Nikon India
organised a workshop on photography.This workshop was taken by Mr.
ChitranshSaxena , a true nikonite who came all the way to take this
workshop.
4. VINE O MANIA
In this event, candidates had to send the short funny videos. There were
about 40-50 entries which were received in this event.
5. ANIMATION CONTEST
ANIMATE was online animation challenge in which participants had to
send their entries of a 2D animation on typography. They could use
aftereffects to create animation.
CONCEVOIR- FINE ARTS SOCIETY:
The Architecture Department has always been fortunate to have an exclusive
say in the annual cultural fest, with “Concevoir”- designing amazing
creations for quite some years, by now. The head of the Architecture
department and other faculties were present at the official commencement.
The event was promoted in all possible ways-posters online and offline,
telephonic calls, visits to other colleges, Whatsapp, the Instagram handle
was already being used to spread the word. The event was visited by
Director Sir, Dean Student Welfare, and other faculties from the institute.
This architecture event comprised of multitudinous engrossing activities.
Students from many colleges showed up throughout all three days of the
event.
An enthralling soap carving activity was carried out, whereby just two things
came handy- a cutter and soap. A Metal Workshop for casting sculptures
through metals was carried out, too. Out of the Block, reviving the block
print technique for students by block this event amalgamated the art of
Rajasthan and Assam. Clay Mitti was organized by a third-year student
whereby beautiful mud sculptures turned out. Organized by two-secondyear
students, Dribble the marble- was as interesting as its name. None other than
Ar. Anuj Kale, synonymous to “Leewardists” graced the institute and
conducted a 2-day workshop. Design me whereby white T-shirts could be
customized according to the heart’s desire, magic with hands and paints.
Trashion as the name suggests comprised of fashion statement from all trash.
The finalists got lucky as they walked down the ramp at Panache infront of
an even huge audience. Sky War saw great enthusiasm for flying kites.
Ribbon Art, Contrasto were some other events conducted. Symphony of
Colours came with an amazing tagline, “Put your Retro Caps on”, with
dollops of paint, lots of white paper went alluring in few hours. House it was
very realistic since it offered a hands-on situation. More than twenty-five
teams from both architecture and engineering turned up for Treasure Hunt.
The event concluded on the third day in the presence of faculty from the
Architecture Department. The event turned out to be a huge success like
every year.
LITERARY SOCIETY:
The Literary Society, MNIT organizedseveral events in Blitzschlag'19 such
as Pen it down, Puzzleria, Kavyanjali, JAM, Questival, Bhaavyankur, Verses
vs verses and even conducted a Creative Writing workshop that focused on
reveling the creative writing skills of all the young enthusiastic writers -an
event that celebrates beauty and power of words as well as creativity of
minds. Rahul Kaushik AKA Themelting words was invited to conduct the
workshop. All the entries in the various events were evaluated on the basis
of literature and vocabulary, expression and clarity, consistency, power and
impact and the creativity of the writers and the avid literature learners.All
the young extremely talented minds were put to test,where each of them
displayed the immensely exceptional skills they possess, expressing the
beauty of their creativity,the experiences of their life and the quality of their
mind.
Blitzschlag’18 has epitomized the ultimate array of cultural activities on an
Institute platform. All the three days packed with numerous competitions,
workshops and of course, exciting pronites were enjoyed thoroughly by the
students.Keeping heart, mind and soul, the institute bought a treasure of
talent. It has been a paradise for the young generation for them to nurture
and showcase their cultural and managerial skills.
