Governor's Educator of the Year ProgramThe Matawan-Aberdeen Regional School District is proud to announce that we will once againparticipate in the New Jersey Department of Education Governor’s Educator of the Year Program(GEOY). This celebratory program integrates the Teacher of the Year Program with the Governor’sTeacher/Educational Services Professional Recognition Program to continue to recognize our state’sbest teachers and educational services professionals.
Do you know an educator who is dedicated, inspiring, and making a difference? If so, please take thetime to recommend this person for the Governor’s Educator of the Year Program by completing thisnomination form template and returning it to the building principal by Friday December 6th.Administrators, staff members, students, parents and community members are encouraged toparticipate.
Levels of Recognition: The selection process begins by nominating one teacher and one educationalservices professional from each school. The two recipients from each school will be recognized by theCounty O�ce of Education, and teacher nominees can vie for the chance to compete for county, stateand national recognition.Attached you will �nd the supporting documents for participating in the program, including the GEOYNomination Form and the program Eligibility Criteria. These documents are also available fordownload on our district website, www.marsd.org.

Crafts & Treats
With winter break right around the corner, here are some fun crafts and treats to enjoy!
Hot Chocolate RaindeerBy, KeriAnn M. (8th Grade)
For this craft you will need:GlueRubber bandMarshmallowsChocolate chipsRed pom pomsRibbon
Hot chocolate mixPiping bagsGoogle eyes
(optional to include brown pipe cleaners)
1. First, you take the piping bag and place it in a cup and rubber band it around the top of the cup.(This is not mandatory but will help.)2. Then, place one packet of hot chocolate mix or 3 tablespoons of mix at the bottom of the bag.3. Put 2 tbsp of chocolate chips then, ⅓ cup of marshmallows.4. Now you can take it out of the cup and tie a bow with the ribbon to close the bag.5. At the bottom tip of the bag, glue a red pom pom to the bottom.6. Put googly eyes where you want the eyes.
If you want to put the brown pipe cleaner, make it look like antlers whatever why you want to and thenput it under the ribbon!
To enjoy, pour the contents add hot water or milk in a mug!
Popsicle Stick MugBy, Alex C. (8th Grade)
Do you need your homemade mug? Don't drink out of it! For thiscraft you need is
10 popsicle stick5 cotton ballsany color you want (Paint, marker,crayon)fake snow �akeAnd the same color paper as your mugglue
1. Glue the 8 popsicle stick together like the picture shown.2. Glue two popsicle stick horizontally to the back of it.3. Then, color all of them the color or colors of your choice.4. Get a piece of paper and make sure it's the same color as the mugand make it a handle shape.5. Glue the piece of paper on the handle to the mug.6. Glue all the cotton balls to the top.7. Get the fake snow�ake and glue it to the middle.

Question: How do I keep my folders and binders organized?Answer: You could try color coding your binders and folders by class and keep an extra folder for allyour homework.

It is time to go back into the game. It's The Next Level of Jumanji and it is coming out on December13th.This movie is going to be based on the next installment in the franchise. This is going to be thesecond Jumanji movie. In this movie, the cast includes: Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black,Karen Gillan, Danny DeVito, Danny Glover, Awkwa�na, and Nick Jonas. This �lm will include action,comedy, fantasy, and adventure.
For round two, the game is going to be ten times harder. Check it out in a few weeks!
