Where the biome is normally found
• Mangrove swamps are found near tropical seacoasts.
• Estuaries of large rivers, lagoons, bays, and tidal creeks.

• There are 220 species of fish, 181 species of birds, 18 species of mammals, and 24 species of reptiles and amphibians.
• Saltwater crocs, Jabiru, Water Buffalo, Flamingo, Sea Snake, Flying Fox, Fiddler Crab, Great Egret, Mangrove Monitor, Mudskipper, Swamp Wallaby, Bees, and Roseate Spoonbill.
Major Characteristics
• They are shallow• They have mud flats• Brackish water• Lots of bacteria due to salt water and low
oxygen
