This manual and its information are useful for a proper installation carried out by qualified personnel or by the authorized installer. Read carefully these instructions before use for a proper and correct utilization of the lamp according to their destination both for patient and operator safety.

STARLED3 EVO PLUS is a medical lamp (single or multiple) whit a proper LIGHTING AT THE CENTRE to light up the patient body locally. It is destined to be used in operating rooms and for diagnostic purposes; it is safe and failure proof and ensures a proper central lighting. Its light emission features enable to identify all particulars accurately and eliminate temperature increases on the light field.
Maintenance on the lamp must be carried out exclusively by personnel authorized by ACEM, according to the instructions contained in this manual and to the specific technical rules. Every intervention on the products must be expressly authorized by ACEM in written. Let it be clearly understood that every intervention is carried out under the exclusive responsibility of who makes the intervention. Every other type of non authorized intervention or not in accordance with the procedures of this manual is not accepted. After maintenance a form must be filled in and sent to ACEM; it will describe the intervention, the replaced parts with their references - company and personnel who have carried out the intervention. Be sure that the lamp is not connected to the mains or could be connected during maintenance procedure.

Complaints for possible damage during transport will be accepted only if communicated immediately to the seller or the forwarding agent. Be sure of having met the requirements/ conditions described in paragraph “safety advice” – during maintenance”. The switching power supply unit is self-protected against short-circuits and does not need output fuses. It needs two input self-restoring fuses that it is not necessary to replace. Two (2) fuses are exclusively mounted on the ceiling mounted version, see the relevant paragraph in section “operation on the ceiling tube”.

Be sure of having met the requirements /conditions described in paragraph “safety advice” – during maintenance”.
Gently raise a corner of the control panel label and pull diagonally. Be sure that some residual glue is not present on the circuit before putting the new panel label; in case, clean with a dry cloth until eliminating it completely. Put the new panel label being careful to its lining up. Start from the lower part putting the label on the board and going up slightly pressing with fingers for a perfect adhesion. For a correct functioning of the system it is important not to create air bubbles between the panel label and the board. At the end check the correct functioning of all controls.

Be sure of having met the requirements /conditions described in paragraph “safety advice” – during maintenance”. Gently raise a corner of the control panel label and pull diagonally. Unscrew the 4 screws along the superior and inferior edge of the board. Remove the board and disconnect the 3 connectors. Connect them to the new board and follow the instructions backwards to assemble once again. To put a new panel label see the previous paragraph.

Be sure of having met the requirements /conditions described in paragraph “safety advice” – during maintenance”. Remove the central cover and disconnect the driver and endo cables from the relevant reflector of the light head. Remove the screws made of nylon blocking the reflector cover. Rotate the cover counter clockwise of 10° and remove it. Unscrew the 4 screws fixing the 2 rotation points by the sides of the light head. Remove the light head. Mount a new light head and go on backwards.

Be sure of having met the requirements /conditions described in paragraph “safety advice” – during maintenance”. Remove the central cover unscrewing the 3 screws made of nylon. Disconnect the 2 wired cable connected to the ENDO ring wiring. Remove the fixing screw made of nylon of the reflector cover. Rotate the cover counter clockwise of 10° and remove it. Remove the 3 screws that fix the ENDO LED and remove it. Mount the new unit and go on backwards for all the previous points.

Remove the central cover unscrewing the 3 screws made of nylon. The board is near the suspension. Disconnect the connectors and the 2 wires (red/black) from the input terminal block. Remove the board and replace it with the new one. Reconnect all the electrical connections.

Find out the driver board to be replaced as per the above picture ( A,B,C,E ) and replace it: Disconnect the 2 wires connecting the board, replace it and reconnect them. Close the central cover.

Find out the power supply unit to be replaced. Disconnect the wires on the terminal block connected to the power supply unit to be replaced. Remove the unit and replace it with another one. Reconnect all the wires on the terminal block following the instructions on the flange – see pendants installation manual -
Be sure of having met the requirements /conditions described in paragraph “safety advice” – during maintenance”. The fuses are exclusively mounted on the ceiling version, on the flange, inside the fuse-holders in the main terminal block, (For each light in case of double configuration). There is an output voltage adjustment trimmer on the power supply unit (V.adj).
The power supply unit is placed: - ceiling version – inside the flange of the vertical pole; – trolley version – inside the rounded box on the base; – wall version – inside the rectangular plastic box. If necessary, operate on the trimmer and set voltage until 33VDC will be present on the input clamp inside the lamp. It is not necessary to make adjustments.
Only the mechanical adjustments are connected to the rotation brake of the light head. If necessary, open the central cover of the light head, find out the brake placed by the suspension. Operate until reaching the desired hardness through the help of an hexagonal key. Close the cover.

The STARLED unit needs particular precautions concerning the EMC and must be installed in accordance with the EMC information contained in its documentation. The portable and mobile radio-communication devices can influence the working of the STARLED unit. The device or the system should not be used near or placed on top of other equipments and in case this should happen, it should be observed to check the normal configuration under which it is used. The device/system is not used in a shielded room only. About this matter the following information must be given: Table 204 (immunity) and 206 (separation distances) for devices/systems that do not support basic functions.
