You rose to the Challenge and raised £2538.48

Whether you bought headbands and wristbands, paid money to wear sporty clothes (or just non-uniform) or

paid for the hottest ticket in town…to the grudge match, pitching staff against the Post 16 basketball team,

you all helped to raise a fantastic amount of money. Well done and thank you! Mr Milburn not only had to

don a pink tutu ,as you raised over £200, he also had to endure waxing his extremely hairy legs as you raised

over £500! Not sure that’s something he’s ever going to want to suffer again.

Mr Milburn goes above and beyond for Sport Relief, the story so far…

Tutu in place…and

wax strip… …he misses the net

again and again!

Miss Smith

seems to enjoy

this more than

Mr M…

…no pain,

no gain!

Post 16 team are ready to rumble!

The teachers look worried!

Grudge Match…Post 16 vs. The Teachers!

Post 16 team

look

impressive in

the warm

up…

…the teachers less so!

It’s all

one way

traffic!

Will Mr Falkner’s

rugby skills help? Will ‘Safe

Hands’ Beynon

save the day?

Even with all the teachers on

the court…it’s all too late…

Post 16 48-16 Teachers

Well done everyone!

No Pedestrians Can we remind you that the bottom entrance gates on Springs Lane are for vehicles only; there is a camera on the gate and therefore we know who you are!

Arabic club Last Thursday the Arabic Club organised its first open day, ‘An afternoon of Middle Eastern Experience’. Students were invited to taste Arabic delicacies, find out about Arab countries and engage in Arabic conversation. They had a fabulous time.

Adiós y buen viaje

Goodbye to our Spanish exchange students who leave today, Friday. They have had a busy week with us, enjoying everything that Yorkshire can offer. Thank you to all our students who have hosted the visitors (with the help of their families!) Gracias.

Sharing Success

Well done to the band ‘The Electric Press’ who were voted the best performers at the recent ‘Hearts Club Night’ at the Otley Courthouse. The band is Will Lovell (10PPB) on guitar and vocals, Charlie Ison (10BB) on bass and vocals and Josh Matheson (10VEB) on drums. Well done boys!

Congratulations to our U16 rugby team who played in the Yorkshire Cup Final last Saturday against Crossley Heath. It was a tremendous match but it wasn’t our day. The final score was IGS 5 – 21 Crossley Heath.

The next band night is in May – if you fancy having a go get in touch with them on [email protected]

Well done to Desideria Sardelli (10GS) who took part in the regional final of the Rotary cooking competition at the weekend in Kirkby-in-Ashfield. She had a stunning menu planned and although not the winner we are all proud of her progressing so far.

Good luck to our Year 11 Applied Learning students who are undertaking expeditions as part of their Duke of Edinburgh bronze award. Netball News Congratulations to our netballers who have been in action this week. On Monday the U12A team and the U14A team played at St Josephs’. Our U13B team were playing in the Netball Emerging League on Tuesday. The U13B reached the semi-finals but lost to Dixons’ Trinity A team. The U12B tried hard but didn't get through to semis although it was a great experience for them as they were playing with U13s.
