HAVE YOU CONSIDERED PERSONAL TRAINING?Maybe you aren’t even sure if it is something you “need”. The benefits of personal training are often unknown until you experience the value of working with a trainer first hand. Even just learning a few tips or implementing minor adjustments to your work out can make a big difference in your results. We recently welcomed an amazing new personal trainer to our team; Bryn Honnold.

Bryn was a competitive soccer player and track athlete. An Edmonds native, he graduated from Meadowdale High School where he participated in the Sports Medicine Program as a student athletic trainer. He attended the University of Montana

where he was a student senator and volunteered for the ALS Foundation. He graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Applied Exercise Science. Bryn has worked as a physical therapy aide and an exercise specialist. His passion is to empower and educate his clients to discover and live their fullest potential.

Bryn walks the floor daily and available to answer any questions you may have. He is also ready to help you set up your own regular training schedule or even just an assessment of how personal training can help you reach your goals this year. Feel free to ask Bryn your questions!

New Items In The Pro ShopYou may have noticed that we have expanded the pro shop to bring you even more of a selection and added value of the best brands in fitness fashion. Our newest addition is Syn-ergy. Read a little bit about this great company and why they represent so much more than just “cute clothes”. “At Synergy, we believe that it mat-ters how your clothing is made. We believe that consumers deserve the choice to buy clothing they feel good about wearing with the knowledge

of where and how it was produced. From our home base in Santa Cruz, California to our handwork seam-stresses in the Kathmandu Valley of Nepal, our Synergy family is part of a global community with purpose. We believe in creating high quality goods by supporting the well-being of those who make our business possible. Our clothing begins with GOTS certified organic cotton grown and loomed into fabric in India. Organic cotton is grown using methods and

materials that have a lower impact on the environment than conventionally grown cotton such as not using toxic pesticides or synthetic fertilizers and without using genetically engineered seed. All of our fabrics are also made with low impact dyes. These dyes have a high absorption rate, which decreases the use of rinse water and produces less waste.“

March Madness Nutrition

Balanced Habits Fad Diets, Counting Calories, Fasting, Juicing, High Protein, Low Fat, Whole Foods, No Carbs, Low Carbs… No wonder we are overwhelmed, dis-couraged and numb to the latest or greatest health trends around us. We are sick of yo-yos and bandwagons.

Yet, we want to be healthier. We want to know what is real and helpful when it comes to nutrition and our overall wellness. How do we discern the peaceful, clear route amidst the crooked chaos of information? How can we stay grounded while the mad-ness of different health messages suck the courage to try something new or better away?

We are individuals with beautiful, unique stories that make us all wonderfully human. We have body strengths and weaknesses. We all have tendencies and traumas that make our approaches to health and wellness complicated. There aren’t actual quick fixes out there that thoroughly address our whole selves and our whole eating. To thoroughly, holistically address our nutrition-- we need to patiently understand that it is a journey of self discovery and true lasting change is slow. Committed to our self -care, personal change takes time. The whirling madness of all

the messages can start to fade away. Clarity and confidence can begin to replace the confusion. Caring for our nutrition is worth every attempt, every shaky step forward. An educated, un-derstanding of nutrition and altered behavior are the variables that see us through to lasting change and results. These are the components that help us change and keep changing, im-proving our health.

If you could address one aspect of your nutrition today, what would it be? If you want to know what to eat-- reach out and we can help you learn about healthier choices. If it is how much to eat (portions) and/or when, reach out and we can help you think through your eating routines. Your body craves consistent, scheduled eating. If you need encouragement, accountability, or a program that could both educate and empower you to increase your wellness, reach out.

Don’t be a victim to the madness of diet fads and social pressures to con-form to some quick fix that doesn’t delve deep enough to make you actually healthier. Instead, recognize that you are a beautiful, complex hu-man and you can reach your hand up and be cared for, walked with in this

amazing journey that we are all on, the path to a better, healthier person. Wellness not Madness.
