FASTING GUIDELINES FOR LENT
Fast and Abstinence for those whose health permits: Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are days of fast and abstinence. All Fridays of Lent are days of abstinence. Fasting means to refrain from eating food between meals and to eat only one full meal with the other two being lighter meals. It is required of those who are 18 to 59. Liquids are permitted between meals. Abstinence means to refrain from eating meat. It is required of those 14 years and older on Ash Wednesday, Good Friday and all Fridays during Lent.

• The second collection this weekend is the annual Catholic Relief Services collection. Funds from this collection provide food to the hungry, support for displaced refugees, and bring Christ’s love and mercy to people here and abroad.
• The second collection next weekend, April 7th is our parish Easter Flowers collection. Additional flower envelopes are available on tables throughout the church for those who do not receive budget envelopes but would like to make a flower donation in memory of a loved one. Memorials will be listed in the parish bulletin during the Easter season.

This collection helps six Catholic agencies provide relief and support to strug-gling communities and work for peace and reconciliation among our marginalized brothers and sisters here and around the world.
