We are looking forward to our students participating in this event on Friday, March 27. This experience is a mini version of the official Relay for Life event. Students will participate in learning about cancer prevention, have fun with entertainment and activities from local community organizations, and raise funds for the American Cancer Society. We are also looking forward to honoring Cancer Survivors who are connected with the Honey Island Community. If you or your business would like to help support this endeavor with a booth or monetary donation, please let me know. Thank you! Our PTA is hosting a “MEET & GREET” for parents of new and incoming 2nd grade students on Tuesday, March 24. Please plan to attend the meeting and see what role you can take part in making our school a success! Third grade students will take Standardized State Assessments March 16-20; April 14-15; and May 4-8. All students have been working on an Art Project for the “Display My Art” program. Your child’s artwork will be able to be reproduced on a wide variety of keepsake products. You will have the opportunity to purchase item (s). Proceeds from this PTA-sponsored fundraiser will support our Water Days in May. Field Trips will be taken in May! We are excited to plan off-campus field trips where our students can learn and have fun. Second graders will be going to the Marine Mammal Institute in Gulfport. Third graders will go to the Honey Island Swamp. Thank you, parents, for your support. You are always welcomed to come by and have lunch with your child, volunteer in your child’s classroom, or meet with me. Your support helps make Honey Island the school where Every Day, Every Child Succeeds! 2015 Relay for life Honey Island Elementary would like to say a BIG THANK YOU to those that purchased the Blocks of Motivation and Hearts of Inspiration as part of our efforts to raise money for the upcoming Relay for Life.
