in march 2013, my cousin-in-law, laura herlands, started a facebook group called “march haiku madness.”

the concept was simple: each day laura would suggest a theme and the group members would post a haiku inspired by that theme.

through invitations and sharing the group eventually blossomed to a network of over 200 poets.

it was some of the most fun i’ve had using social media.
