Mother Nature must have decided to have winter all in- side of 3 weeks. I hope everyone stayed warm with no damaged to their property because of the ice and snow. The annual club Valentine’s Dinner at Calhoun’s on the River was cancelled because of the weather. We will reschedule so watch your newsletter. The February board/car show committee meeting was also cancelled. So at this months regular meeting, March 7, I am asking all club members to try to attend. We will be folding, stuffing envelopes, and mailing out our car show flyer. We make an assembly line and the more hands helping out the quicker we can get this done. Also at this meeting we will discuss the car show t-shirt design - what cars do we want to see on the front. Bring pictures of your favorite car and be ready to vote. Keep in mind that your car show is only 3 months away! There is still plenty of work that needs to be done. Now is the time to step up and volunteer. Grab a handful of flyers and begin passing them out. Also door prizes, goodie bag items, and sponsorships are needed. Invoices for t-shirt and trophy sponsors are now available. They will be at every meeting. Any sponsorships you acquire be sure to get a business card. All sponsors are announced at the show - frequently! All mon- ies are due by June 1. The club has a March activity planned - a trip to the Floyd Garrett Muscle Car Mu- seum in Sevierville with lunch at the Starlite Diner. Anyone wanting to caravan over, several of us are meeting at the Shoney’s Restaurant on Rutledge Pike at 10:00am on Saturday, March 14. We will cruise up I-40 east to exit 407, and con- tinue to the museum. It is important to call or e-mail Judy if you plan to join us (865)-691-6002 or [email protected] Either to caravan or meet at the museum. Every year this get together gets better! Mike and I attended the new car show at the Knoxville Convention Center on Febru- ary 21. I was very disappointed with this years lack of surprise. That one car or truck that would catch your attention. Walking through the Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep/ Ram area we noticed no Hellcat! On the 2015 models did anyone notice the change on the shift selector. It is now a dial! No kidding. I thought it was a dial for the ra- dio/sound system at first. I did like the look of the new Dart and the Jeep Sahara. The Longhorn Ram was my choice. To bad it wasn’t a dually. Walking around and taking in the “other” brands, we spotted something in the Mercedes area. Their ver- sion of a SUV! Continued on page 2

Continued from page 1 …

It had all the bells and whistles that come on a Mercedes product. The interior design had all the com-fort features right at your fingertips. But this vehicle was also made for the road. It was a 4x4 with a roll bar. Then to really shock you, all you had to do was look at the window sticker. For a mere $150,000 this vehicle could be yours. In the vendor area, Chrysler had a set up to push the Chrysler 200 model. We talked with the rep who was there and filled out their survey. Received a cool t-shirt for doing that. In addition to the t-shirt, I also won a $25 gift card for wearing the shirt at the show. I guess you could say I was making a fashion statement. The club is still looking for 2 members to fill the Board Member vacant spots. The responsibility of a Board Member is to attend the monthly Board Meetings and help to set the meeting agenda for the next monthly club meeting. Your input as a board member is very important. On a final note, Fiat put out an announcement about some of their Dodge dealers charging $10,000 or more over retail price on the Hellcat. Also, taking large deposits on the Hellcat knowing that there are a limited number of these cars in production. Beware! Do your homework on the dealer you are doing business with and don’t be taken in.
