Marg Kronfeld was born in Great Britain, but early in her life immigrated with her parents to New Zealand, a remote island country made up of a North Island and South Island, and various smaller islands, in the Southwest Pacific Ocean. Marg Kronfeld is British by birth, but a New Zealander in every other way that is important, a true kiwi.

From Form 3 to Form 7, years 9 through 13, Northcote has been educating young adults as the oldest secondary school on the North Shore of New Zealand. Marg Kronfeld earned her Bachelor of Commerce Degree in 1987 at Massey University, which offers its Business School accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools.

Another employer for Kronfeld during this time was M&MK properties, which exposed Kronfeld to yet another aspect of home building: rental property management and maintenance.
