SPELL-A-THON
Grandview is holding our annual
Spell-a-thon from Wednesday, March 22 to
April 20, 2017. On Tuesday, April 11,
students will write their spelling words in
their classrooms.
Pledge envelopes and pledges collected are
to be returned to the school office by April 20.
Money raised by the students will be used to
support student activities and special events,
e.g. bussing for field trips and year-end
school swim
This year's Spell-a-thon prizes are:
1. Lunch for the class that raises the most $$
per student.
2. Every class - draw made for a $25.00 Gift
Card to Collicutt. To be eligible, student must
raise a minimum of $40.00 and have 80% of
their words correct.
3. K-2; 3-5 - draw made for one
CHROMEBOOK. To be eligible, student
must raise a minimum of $80 or more and
have 80% or more of their words correct.
4. School-wide Incentives...
whole school raising $2,500 -
30 minutes of extra recess in May
whole school raising $5,000 - an hour long
dance in the gym in May
whole school raising $7,500 - dunk tank
“100” Club – students who get 100% on
their spelling test and/or raise over $100 get
a $5.00 gift card from Booster Juice AND a
chance to send selected staff to the DUNK
TANK!

Late French Immersion Program - Central Middle School
Student Information Meeting
Wednesday,

Central Middle School has a Late French
Immersion Program for students
entering Grade 6 next school year. At the
present time, CMS is accepting
registrations from parents who would
like to have their children in their Late
French Immersion program for the 2017-
2018 school year.
This program is geared for students who
have little or no French experience and
who:
- are interested in learning French;
- are looking for a challenge and are
motivated to learn;
- have strong basic skills and are
working at grade level.
with students and a follow-up meeting
for interested parents will be held at a
later date.
June 2017—Early Dismissal Mark Your Calendar
Due to the necessity of staff
having to move out of the school at the end
of June, students will be dismissed one day

Swimming - April 5 - May 10, 2017 Grandview students, grades 2 to 5, participate in the
Red Deer Recreation School Swim Program. This
program focuses on swimming skills, water safety and fitness. The overall goal of the program is to provide
students with lifelong skills relating to swimming and
water safety. This year the Grandview School Council is covering
the swim fees so there will be no cost to parents.
