The topic for my project report is(
The Project 'eport revolves around the )odafone services *imited tried to eplore the
various aspects of postpaid connection. The certain objectives were predefined and the task
was to accomplish them. This report also provides the survey analysis about the nature of
retailer prescription and the key factors over which a company should have a strong hold to
survive with a long+term view.
The study was confined geographically to eerut. The data source was collected from the
regular visits of retailer-s.
special taskwas also assigned to me to analyze the market opportunities in different
regions of eerut. It under that different counter has been visited. set of /uestionnaire was
prepared 0 scrutinized before going for market analysis.
The whole process during the entire training program is well planned and the data was
initially collected about the reputed 'etailer-s the respective eecutives of concerned areas.
The task was divided into small goals which to be accomplished on the daily basis.

In today-s world telecom market is epanding at a tremendous rate with introduction of
several service providers, the competition in the market is becoming "cut throat.$ Aith
the growing competition an organization needs to build strengths in such a way that it can
outperform the competitors and remain in competition.
)odafone communication brought about a revolution in telecom market by introducing
!S technology for the first time in the country and offered a never before price which
helped them to build one of the largest customer base in the country.
This project is about improving the sales and distribution management of vodafone post
paid mobiles in eerut to beat the competition and recover from the drowning sales in
the starting of current financial year. The project included improvement of
communication between the retailers and post paid channel officials, introduction of new
plans and offers for the customer and to promote the sales.

7ellular Telephony + the technology that gives a person the power to communicate anytime,
anywhere + has spawned an entire industry in mobile telecommunication. obile telephones
have become an integral part of the growth, success and efficiency of any business N
economy.
The most prevalent wireless technology in the world today, is !S. The !S o6 H!lobal
System for obile 7ommunications was instituted in 2D?= to promote and epedite the
adoption, development and deployment and evolution of the !S standard for digital
wireless communications. The ssociation was formed as a result of a ;uropean 7ommunity
agreement on the need to adopt common standards suitable for cross border ;uropean mobile
communications. Starting off pvodafonearily as a ;uropean standard, the !roupe Speciale
obile as it was then called, soon came to represent the !lobal System for obile
7ommunications as it achieved the status of a world+wide standard. The !S o6
ssociation addresses issues of concern facing the operator, the administrator, the regulator
around theglobe.
The !S membership has grown eponentially since 2DD9. The membership now etends to
>9> members from over 29B countries. HSee graph The !S network now services over 29B
million customers world+wide. The worldKs satellite operators have also joined the !S
community, which further adds to its strength and impact on world markets. !S is today,
the worldKs leading digital standard accounting for 8@L of the global digital wireless market.
The cellular obile Service Providers H7SP shall be permitted to provide mobile
telephony services including permission to carry its own long distance traffic within their
service area without seeking an additional license. 5irect interconnectivity between licensed

operation including sharing of infrastructure with any other type of service provider shall be
permitted.
*icenses would be awarded for an initial period of twenty years and would be etendible by
additional periods of ten years thereafter.
FIED SERVI(E 3ROVIDERS
The 1ied Service Providers H1SP shall be freely permitted to establish Olast mileK
linkages to provide fied services and carry long distance traffic within their service area
without seeking an additional license. 5irect interconnectivity between 1SPs and any other
type of service provider Hincluding another 1SP in their area of operation and sharing of
infrastructure with any other type of service provider shall be permitted. The 1SP allowed to
directly interconnect with the )S3* after the opening up of national long distance from
:anuary 2, 9EEE. The 1SP may also utilize last mile linkages or transmission links within its
service area made available by other service providers.
The 1SP licenses would be re/uired to pay a one time entry fee. ll 1SP licensees shall pay
license fee in the form of a revenue share. It is proposed that the appropriate level of entry fee
and percentage of revenue share and basis for selection of new operators for different service
areas of operation would be recommended by T'I in a time+bound manner, keeping in view
the objectives of the 3ew Telecom Policy.

Internet telephony shall not be permitted at this stage. Cowever, !overnment will continue to
monitor the technological innovations and their impact on national development and review
this issue at an appropriate time.

RADIO 3AGING SERVI(E 3ROVIDERS
The 'adio Paging Service Providers H'PSP shall be permitted to provide
paging services within their service area of operation, 5irect interconnectivity between
licensed 'PSPs and any other type of service provider in their area of operation including
sharing of infrastructure shall be permitted. Interconnectivity between service providers in
different service areas shall be reviewed in consultation with T'I.
The radio paging licenses shall pay a one time entry fee. The basis for determining the entry
fee and basis for selection of additional operators will be recommended by the T'I. ll
radio paging licensees shall pay license fee as a revenue share.

jurisdiction of other access providers and they will not provide switched telephony.

lthough the telecom segment is liberalized and this important segment does not come free
from controversies and contentious issues. Issues like implementation of the 7PP regime as
recommended by the T'I, the role of T'I in issuing licenses, the cancellation of licenses,
the percentage of revenue share between private operators and the government and lastly the
differences between T'I and T3* over the launch of the latest cellular services are some
among the issues to be solved.
The 5oT has drawn an ambitions plan to provide over one million telephone connections
based on wireless in local loop HA** system during 9EEE+E2.
The government initiated the process of separating the policy making functions of the 5epartment of
Telecom from its functions as a service provider.
