Gulkana Street, Palmer, Alaska: The Planning Commission will address the update to the Kopczenski Pit Interim Materials District (IMD) application due to changes to MSB 17.28 Interim Materials District. The Planning Commission held a public hearing on the IMD on December 5, 2011 and passed Resolution 11-34(AM) recommending approval of the IMD with conditions. On December 20, 2012 the MSB Assembly amended MSB Chapters 17.28 and 17.30. The applicant (QAP) has provided additional information regarding these changes. The site is located on MSB Parcel# 21N04W19A001; 67541 S. Parks Highway; within Township 21 North, Range 4 West, Section 19, Seward Meridian. The updated Interim Materials District application material will be introduced for public hearing at the August 6, 2012 Planning Commission meeting. The Planning Commission members may submit questions to the Planning Commission Clerk concerning the matter or request for more information from the applicant at the time of introduction. All questions and requests submitted by the Commission shall be in writing and copies will be provided to the applicant and made available to all interested parties and the public upon request. Answers to questions and additional material requests will be addressed in the staff report for the public hearing. Commission members may not receive or engage in ex-parte contact with the applicant, other parties interested in the application, or members of the public concerning the application or issues presented in the application. Correction: Timber that is cleared from the site will be made available to the public mid to late July. A $25 permit is required from the Land Management Division at the Mat-Su Borough Administration building at the Dorothy Swanda Jones Building, 350 E. Dahlia Avvenie, Palmer, upstairs. The cost for each cord of wood is an additional $25 with a maximum of three cords per family. Call Glenda at 745- 9864 with questions. Locations and dates for removal will be posted on the Hatcher Pass Recreation Area’s Facebook page and on the Mat-Su Borough’s project website. Declarations of candidacy shall be submitted in original form and are not accepted electronically or via facsimile. Financial Disclosure Statements must be e-filed with the Alaska Public Offices Commission with a hard copy provided to the Clerk’s Office at the time of filing for candidacy.
