PUBLIC HEARINGThe Matanuska-Susitna Borough Planning Commission will conduct a public hearing concerning the following application for an Interim Materials District (IMD) on Monday, August 6, 2012, at 6:15 p.m. at the MSB School District Administration Building, 501 N. Gulkana Street, Palmer:
An application for an Interim Materials District (IMD) under MSB 17.28, has been submitted by Colaska, Inc. for the extraction of 20,000,000 cubic yards of material over approximately 40 years. There is an existing IMD on MSB Parcel# 20N04W06D001. The request is to enlarge the existing IMD by adding the following properties: MSB Parcels: 21N04W31D001, 20N04W06B005, 20N04W06C004, 20N04W05C003, and Birch Grove Subdivision Lot 1 (7060000L001). The IMD is located at approximately mile 78.5 – 79 of the Parks Highway, within Township 21 North, Range 4 West, Section 31 and Township 20 North, Range 4 West, Sections 5 and 6, Seward Meridian.
The Interim Materials District application will be introduced for public hearing at the July 16, 2012 Planning Commission meeting. The Planning Commission members may submit questions to the Planning Commission Clerk concerning the matter or requests for more information from the applicant at the time of introduction. All questions and request submitted by the Commission shall be in writing and copies will be provided to the applicant and made available to all interested parties and the public upon request. Answers to questions and additional material requests will be addressed in the staff report for the public hearing.
Commission members may not receive or engage in ex-parte contact with the applicant, other parties interested in the application, or members of the public concerning the application or issues presented in the application.
Application material may be reviewed online at ww1.matsugov.us/planning by moving your mouse over ‘Permits, Districts, and Variances’ and clicking on ’Proposed Districts’. Application materials may be reviewed in the Borough Permit Center of the Planning and Land Use Department. Written comments can be mailed to the MSB Permit Center, 350 E. Dahlia Avenue, Palmer, AK 99645. You may fax comments to 745-9876 or e-mail to: [email protected]. Comments received prior to July 18, 2012 will be included in the Planning Commission packet for the Commissioner’s review and information. NOTICE OF VACANCIES IN OFFICE AND CANDIDATE FILINGCandidates for elective office must file, under oath, a fully executed Declaration of Candidacy form and an Alaska State Financial Disclosure Statement during the candidate filing period. Declarations of candidacy shall be submitted in original form and are not accepted electronically or via facsimile. Financial Disclosure Statements must be e-filed with the Alaska Public Offices Commission with a hard copy provided to the Clerk’s Office at the time of filing for candidacy.
