Creating Customer Value

At Danfoss Industrial Automation, we combine uncompromising product

quality and extreme reliability with a single-minded focus on customer

needs. Danfoss expertise builds on more than 60 years of creating value

for customers around the world.

Our extensive product range includes best-in-class temperature

controls, industrial valves, pressure switches and transmitters.

This handy Selection Guide makes it easier than ever to find and order

the Danfoss product that fits your needs – and to create value for your

customers.

Where to useDanfoss solenoid valves provide high quality balanced with cost efficiency, thus making them the first choice in a wide range of industrial applications. The solenoid valves shown in this guide represent the most commonly used products in our extensive range.

Danfoss EV210B and EV250B valves are suitable for use in applications with either limited or no differential pressure, such as closed-loop circulating systems or tank-fed drain applications.

EV220B valves use system pressure to open or close, and thus require a differential pressure drop across the valve of minimum 0.3 bar to operate. EV220B valves are therefore suitable for use in open-loop systems, such as irrigation and supply of tap water.

EV225B are solenoid valves designed for use with steam at temperatures up to 185 °C.

The products chosen for this guide are a small selection of the total Danfoss valve range, which includes:

• Normally open valves• High pressure valves• Externally operated valves• Thermostatically operated valves for control of cooling and heating • Stainless steel valves for use with aggressive media• Flange valves up to 4 inches• Proportional control valves• 3-way valves• A wide variety of seal materials

technologyDanfoss solenoid valves are available as direct-operated (EV210B), servo-operated (EV220B and EV225B) and assisted lift (EV250B) and are suitable for use with media with limited dirt content - such as potable water, gas or vapour. Danfoss solenoid valve features include:

• Limitation of liquid hammer effects which is achieved by optimising the shape of the diaphragm to provide a controlled closing action.

• Integrated self cleaning mesh filter in EV220 15-50 range providing resistance to dirt contamination.

Closed or drain systemsClosed-circuit systems are systems in which there is no significant pressure difference between inlets and outlets. For example, central heating systems are closed-circuit systems – as are tank systems in which the drain is located at a low level in the tank.

EV210B without coil EV250B without coil

open systemsOpen-circuit systems are characterised by one side of the valve being connected at a relatively high pressure, while the other side is connected to lower fluid or air pressure - for example a tap.

EV220B (6-10) without coil EV220B (15-50) without coil

steamSteam systems are defined here as low-stream distribution systems with pressure under 10 bars and high temperatures (up to 185°C). The steam can be dirty.

u Isolating diaphragmAn isolating diaphragm is available for the EV220B 15-50 series and EV210B 3 mm valves. The isolating diaphragm prevents the media entering the armature tube thus eliminating the possibility of the armature sticking when working with aggressive, contaminated or calcareous media.
