The Spring General Meeting was held on the evening of April 12th at the home of Patricia Goeringer. Sisters enjoyed

appetizers while socializing before the meeting. Julie Novak (Psi Beta), presented her Top 10 Tips to Total Health and

Wellness. Julie has an extensive background in the healthcare industry, currently she is the Associate Dean for Practice at the University of Texas Health Science Center at

Houston School of Nursing. Julie has shared this presentation at numerous Chi Omega Make-A-Wish events around the country. Everyone learned something new that evening along with the reminders of what we already know

we should be doing to live a healthier lifestyle.

Gwen has been a loyal participant of the Alumnae Association since her college graduation from Texas Christian University (Rho Epsilon) in the mid-1970s. She undoubtedly, and without waiver, steps up with participation and a helping hand wherever she can serve. In our Alumnae Association Gwen has served in the role of President as well as taken on TWO, yes TWO, terms as the Chi Omega Kaleidoscope chair when we hosted the Best of Texas Market. In fact, one friend said, “She made that look so easy. Her talents and grace make everything she does look effortless!” She shows up to fundraising events, social gatherings, cookie packing at The Center, whatever the event, if she can make it, she is there, especially if it benefits one of our worthy causes. Gwen also served on the board of Houston Alumnae Panhellenic Association, where she spent two years as the publicity chair. Gwen and her husband Joseph have two sons, one daughter and five grandchildren.
