Dear Sixth through Eighth Grade Parent(s) and Guardian(s),
Alliance for Progress Charter School is dedicated to educating the whole child. For 20 years Alliance hasprovided academic and emotional support to our students through a rigorous academic curriculum and dedicated student services department. While our health and physical education department addresses the physical health of our students, this year we will be inviting Laquisha Anthony of Women Organized AgainstRape (WOAR), to teach our students about Healthy and Unhealthy Relationships.
Ms. Anthony will be speaking with our 6th through 8th grade students on Friday, May 24th. Laquisha has an
abundance of experience in the areas of prevention education and advocacy and we look forward to the valuable knowledge she will share with our students.
In the event you DO NOT want your child to participate in this health lesson facilitated by WOAR, please send a letter with the heading “Opt Out of Safe Touch Lesson” with you child tomorrow 5/23 and an alternative arrangement will be made for your child. A staff member will contact you to confirm your opt out letter was received. If you have sent a letter, and you do get a call by 2pm on 5/23, please call the office at 215-232- 4892. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the program, please contact me. Keeping Kids First, Mrs. Joanna Hightower, CEO Additional Information: WOAR Website: https://www.woar.org/
