Awesome Assemblies
This week Mayfield School was
visited by a Chinese dance
company who told the children
about the Chinese New Year. They
acted it out with a dance and a
dragon called Lupa. The children
learnt that Lupa was a naughty
dragon to begin with, then got
turned into a good dragon by
medicine.
By Arun, LIII
Lower II presented a lovely assembly
this morning, where they spoke
about the Chinese New Year.
Twelve Chinese zodiac animals are
used to represent the years, and
Lower II told us all how this year is the
year of the dog. The children wore
colourful masks showing the twelve
animals and shared the story behind
the celebrations.
