West Kentucky 4‐H Cloverbud Camp will be June 21‐23, 2019 at West Kentucky 4‐H Camp in Dawson Springs. Cloverbud Camp is for youth ages 5‐8 years old and a parent/guardian must a end with them. Please plan to join us “In the Jungle” for a fun‐filled weekend of canoeing, cooking/gardening, cra s, fishing, jungle science, nature, recrea on, swimming and MORE! Deadline to register is May 17th. There will be a 4‐H Beginning Quil ng Class on June 12, 13 & 14, 2019 from 1:00 ‐ 4:00 p.m. at the Hardin County Extension Office. This class is for ages 9 & up and is a FREE Class. You will receive a supply list upon registra on and your projects will qualify for the county fair.

HEY KIDS!!!!! If you are looking to have some compe ve FUN then why not get involved in some of the 4‐H ac vi es during the 2019 Hardin County Community Fair! Copies of the Fair Catalog 4‐H Sec on are available at the Extension Office or may be found on the 4‐H website at h p://hardin.ca.uky.edu/ they contain informa on on all the classes for the 4‐H building exhibits as well as the dog, goat, rabbit and market animal show and sale. Please refer to the catalog for all Clover Corner exhib‐it entries. Entry day for exhibits will be Monday, July 8 from 10:00 A.M. ‐ 4:00 P.M. at the Hardin County Fairgrounds.

HARDIN CO. 4‐H COUNCIL
Please join us for our next 4‐H Council mee ng on Tuesday, June 4th at 6:30 p.m. as we get ready to jump into summer events and begin discussing fall programs. Your a endance is important and needed as we make important decisions that affect the youth of our community! If it allows, we will plan to take a trip to see the progress of our new office scheduled to open early this fall!
Help us roll out the exci ng NEW LOOK of the Ice Cream trailer on June 21st at the Nolin RECC Annual Mee ng at John Hardin High School. Volunteers will be needed to serve Nolin employees star ng at 4:30 p.m. followed by opening the dairy trailer at 5:00 p.m. for outside sales. A more detailed work assignment will be discussed at the June 4‐H Council mee ng.
4‐H ICE CREAM TRAILER FUNDRAISING
WOW! Fundraising efforts have been in full swing as we approach the end of the renova on phase of our Ice Cream Trailer and we have been blown away by the generosity of so many! We are looking forward to ge ng the trailer finished and prepped for summer events! Be on the lookout for the newly renovated trailer at an event this summer and be sure to fill your craving of our hand‐dipped ice cream!

CLUB NEWS
FEATHERS & FLUFF POULTRY/RABBIT CLUB
During the May mee ng, Priscilla Riggs did an excellent job demonstra ng “rabbit showmanship”. You not only have to work with your rabbit ge ng them use to being handled but you must be able to talk about different parts of your rabbit to the judge and be able to answer any ques ons they might have. Club members voted not to have any mee ngs during the summer months as they prepare for county and state fair shows. Remember as the weather warms your rabbits are easily stressed. You can always freeze a coke size bo le of water and put in the cage with them and they will lay against it to cool if necessary. The club will resume their normal monthly mee ngs in September.
Livestock club members Addy Shoulders, Kayleigh Thomas, Nora Kubat, Tre Wright & Trent Pike along with other club members learned a li le more about using the “Incredible Edible Egg” at their last mee ng. They worked in groups making different types of egg salad using yogurt vs mayonnaise or salad dressing followed by a taste test at the end. Members are gearing up for a busy show season as they will be having their annual “Grooming Clinic” at 6:00 p.m. on May 20th at the new Livestock Event Center on Opportunity Road just behind Farm Credit. The following families have offered to bring certain species: Williams (beef and/or sheep); Shoulders & Blackburn (goats) and Geer (swine). Everyone will have a chance to learn more about fi ng, grooming and showmanship. We will have a guest speaker at 7:15 p.m. with Pizza and drinks provided. We will also have addi onal informa on regarding sponsors for this year’s show.

Paws dog club members are gearing up for summer events and ac vi es. Our county dog camp is Saturday, June 1 at Bella’s K9 Academy. Schedule to be announced at later date. Be sure to make plans for County Fair Dog Show for July 14th. Training is May 15, 22, and June 5, 12, 19. Make plans to volunteer for working Ice cream trailer during County Fair week July 8‐13. Next mee ng is Tuesday, May 14.

CLOVER BUDS CLUB
The last and final mee ng of the year will be a family nature hike on May 11th from 9:00‐11:00 AM at Saunders Springs. Please bring your hiking boots! The new club year will begin in September.
TRAILBLAZERS Members are dus ng off their boots as they prepare for the District 5 Qualifying Horse Show on May 25th at WKU in Bowling Green. Congratula ons to all those who par cipated at the District 5 Horse Judging and Hippology compe ons and at the UK Field Day. Please be sure to mark calendars for County fair week July 8‐13 we will have sign‐ups at mee ng to work Ice Cream trailer on Saturday, July 13.

Mrs. Sherry and club members have been learning a lot about healthy cooking and turning some of your favorite dishes into healthy ones! In May they are really going to be put to the test as they work in teams to prepare a meal on a budget! Please be sure to join us May 20 and 21. Watercolor was last month’s focus and WOW! They turned out beau ful! Don’t forget to keep working on what you are learning in Art Club and start deciding which pieces you want to exhibit in the Hardin County Fair this summer!
