MBN USA is proud to recognize its 2016 Champions of Supplier Diversity, acknowledging professionals for driving growth in supply chain diversity and inclusion. Their efforts are supported by the steadfast, top-down commitment of their chief procurement officers, who are honored for creating an environment that allows those professionals to thrive.

CPOs and supplier diversity professionals play an important role in ensuring diversity in the supply chain. Helping to build a supplier base that reflects the demographics of the customer base and employee mix results in increased corporate profits and overall positive positioning in the community.

The 2016 Champions of Supplier Diversity highlight those di-versity programs with strong CPO support and supplier diversity professional advocates. These programs — along with commit-ment, best practices and results — play a major part in engaging minority-owned businesses in the supply chain.

MethodologyThe list of the Champions of Supplier Diversity was com-

piled using key indicators, including: • Impactful promotion of supplier diversity to improve com-

panies’ business performances. • Identification of strategic opportunities to include and grow

diverse suppliers. • Creation of a positive environment for procurement em-

ployees. • Encouragement of innovative ideas among employees and

suppliers. CPOs were chosen for their unwavering commitment to sup-

ply chain diversity and to their supplier diversity professionals who are empowered to increase procurement opportunities for minority business enterprises.

Using MBN USA’s supplier diversity leader index — a mea-surement of how closely an individual matches the key in-dicators listed above — the data was analyzed. The final list represents the supplier diversity professionals and chief pro-curement officers who most strongly exemplify the characteris-tics. Congratulations to these distinguished honorees:
