distribute your media project and why?

Research

From the research I have made for my proposal, I know that Bauer Media Group is a well known multi-platform media company based in 17 different countries including UK which was brought in, in 1987S. It is one of the largest publishers in Britain and manages over 600 magazines and a variety of radio and TV Stations like Kiss FM, 4Music, SmashHits & etc.

Reason 1

One of the reasons why I chose this institution is because it is an international company which means it could help to boost popularity and get the magazine known worldwide. The company is also responsible for prestigious music award shows in the UK, this would help get recognition for my magazine and the artists in it, which is the whole point of a music magazine; to get recognition for the artists and make sales. I think that Bauer Media Group doesn't have a music magazine of a Grime and R&B genre which would bring uniqueness to the company.

The Institution

The institution has connections with popular radio stations like Kiss Fm, which mostly plays songs that are in the top charts of any genre, mostly R&B however. This links in with my genre and could advertise my magazine and this would help to get a lot of recognition since a lot of people tune into the radio while driving. The Bauer Media Group publish a variety of different magazines of different genres, like music, fashion, lifestyle and etc meaning they do not have a set target audience, so it varies between men, women and teenagers. However, I do not think that there is any magazines that Bauer publishes that are aimed at teenagers, apart from Empire, but that is a movie magazine, so I think my music magazine will be the first from that publisher that is aimed at teenagers

Reason 2

Bauer Media Group would be an appropriate and good publisher for my magazine since they have published a variety of magazines which are successful like Kerrang! and Q, therefore they have the knowledge of what a music magazine should contain to be successful and fresh. Also, since my magazine contains grime, it would be new for the publisher and the first magazine grime magazine that they have published. My magazine would be well looked after and have the skills on how to market my magazine and since Bauer caters for everyone with different interests, they will know how to produce a new popular, and soon to be successful, music magazine.

Technologies

Like any other magazine, my magazine will also be distributed online since society is all about technology and will further into technology as the years go on. I will have an E-Mag, online magazine, and an app since my target audience are teenagers and as a teenager we love technology. We'll do everything online now. Also for people who cannot afford to buy magazines in stores, they will be able to view majority of the content for free on the apps since hard-back copies are no longer popular. There will be a hardcopy of my magazine of course since some people would like to buy it in stores and in the future you could sell it to make money.

Apps & WebsitesAs the magazine gets more popular and successful, the app would no longer be free of charge. Of course, there will be an electronic brand extension. My magazine will have their own website and use a variety of social media like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter and become one of the features on Snapchat. At the moment, Snapchat is very popular and a lot of teenagers use this app therefore this will help to boost the popularity of the magazine and gain a bigger audience. Even though Facebook is dying down, majority of the world population use Facebook just like the other apps so this will help my magazine to become worldwide. All the social medias and apps will be monitored and contain a variety of content like pictures, some articles and upcoming concerts like Wireless and a Drake concert for example.
