Woodward Fire Department, Oklahoma

Woodward is located in northwest Oklahoma at the intersection of US Highway 270 and 412. It’s remote location is 140 miles northwest of Oklahoma City and 170 miles northeast of Amarillo, Texas. Although their new Hackney rescue’s primarily purpose is to respond to emergency incidents in and around the city, it is also classified as a regional response vehicle for disasters. The fire department serves a city of approximately 12,000, plus the surrounding agricultural community.

IH 7400 4x4 chassis permits this rescue to respond to most any off-road incident. Generator breaker panel in positioned on lower front compartment for easy access and viewing. Slide-out rack in aft section of front compartment provides mounting for SCBA’s and tools. 300 gpm pump with 200 gallon poly water tank is mounted in wheelhouse.

Full height rear compartment accommodates all hydraulic extrication tools and equipment. Fold-down steps are provided on each side and rear, plus wheel step bars to facilitate easy access to equipment in the higher ground height 4x4 application. Note recessed shelf tracks and LED compartment lights in side walls to maximize compartment storage. Speed-Dry hopper is shown in open dispensing mode.
