10 Questions For...Evan BroylesSenior Evan Broyles(Sun Prairie, WI./Sun Prairie H.S.) is a three-year letterwinner on the Green Knight track & field team spe-cializing in the throws.Broyles is majoring in History Education

Q: Why did you choose St. Norbert? A: I chose SNC because it offered the best-

combination, in my eyes, of athletics and my desired major of History Education. I wanted the opportunity to earn a degree from a prestigious college like SNC as well as be apart of conference championship teams. I also wanted to be close enough to my fam- ily so my folks would be able to attend my competitons. When my father moved to Wis- consin from Indiana, he attended Little Chute High School. Growing up I heard nothing but great stories about this area, so naturally I was curious about SNC. The combination of my father’s stories and SNC’s academics and athletics sold me. I decided to be a Green Knight.

Q: Who is your favorite professional ath-lete?

A: As a kid, I was a huge Ron Dayne fan, but currently I really enjoy watching Odell Bec-

kham Jr. as well as his LSU teammate, Jarvis Landry. Both receivers are tremendously gifted and talented with their one handed catches. Also being an offensive lineman, I love watching guys like Joe Thomas and Jason Peters do work in the trenches. Fans now-a-days do not appreciate the work these guys do, not to mention give them the credit they deserve.

Q: What was your favorite class taken at St. Norbert?

A: My favorite classes have been with Dr. Lovano. I have had Dr. Lovano for four classes in all now, but my absolute favorite class was his ancient Rome one. I also re ally enjoy Dr. Kramer’s middle east courses as well. Both are outstounding professors!

Q: Who was your favorite childhood car-toon character?

A: Tazmanian devil from looney toons.

Q: What’s the one movie you must have in your movie collection?A: Saving Private Ryan

Q: What’s your fondest memory as a St. Nor-bert athlete?A: For football, I would say when I received my

first conference championship ring in Coach Purtill’s office. He handed me the box and I just stared at it. He looks at me and says, “Evan you did not work your butt off to just stare at the dang thing! Try it on son!” In regards to track and field, I would say when I broke the school record in the weight throw at Oshkosh. I was very surprised because I did not feel the greatest. I was coming off a hard academic week as well as had a bad cold, but somehow I ended up breaking the record and taking 1st at the invitational. On top of it all, my father was there to witness it, which meant the world to me.

Q: What’s currently hanging from your dorm room/apartment wall?A: Nothing actually. I like it that way. Less things to bring home after the semester is done. Q: What is your favorite breakfast cereal?A: Not really a cereal guy. I prefer scrambled

eggs and sausage.

Q: Other than your sporting event, what is your favorite campus activity? A: When I have the time I like to watch the

men’s hockey team.

Q: What’s the one word that best describes your team? A:Football: Tenacious

Track: Multiplicity
