Our dedicated team welcomes you to the punch years. Punch, the drink which is all about bringing people together. Het Stadshuis
Here you can see the famous statue of Antwerp where according to the mythe Brabo throws the hand of Antigoon into the Schelde breaking Antigoons control of the city. It is this act of bravery which led to the name of the city, Antwerpen. Like Brabo, there is another colossus who shaped not Antwerp but the world of cocktails, Jerry Thomas. Not only did he create the first cocktail book that is still used by bartenders today, but he also is famous for throwing, a firing liquid. The drink is renowned “The Blue Blazer”. In this section we honour his drinks and if you look closely you will see Brabo throwing a “Blue blazer”!

Justitiepaleis
The prohibition era was a period that many people would rather forget. Why would you ban alcohol? However it happened and it created a lot of opportunities for rum runners and the maffia. It was prohibition that gave Al Capone his stage. Crime was on the rise and the courthouses had their hands full. However despite the negative points of prohibition it was also the era which encouraged hidden bars to spring up (speakeasies) and the creation of great drinks made with a very small selection of spirits. Here we celebrate a small selection of prohibition cocktails and take them to another level.

America, the place where Trader Vic created the Tiki culture, transporting people away for a few brief minutes from their local bar to the sun, sea and Polynesian girls in short grass skirts. Try one of these Tiki greats and let us carry you away on your own imagination for a short while.

Rubenshuis
This is the house of Peter Paul Rubens, a world-famous Baroque painter, who lived in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. His work has inspired artists and art aficionados for over four hundred years. In this unique museum, the master's house, Rubens's presence is tangible and even today inspires creativity. Here at NINE we have tried to tap into his inspiration and use the experience we have gained over the last twelve years to create a drink with Remy Martin Louis XIII that is a work of art on his own. This unique drink is literally a sip of art!
- -14
‘Sazerac Royale’
With a unique blend of 1200 eaux-de-vie aged up to 100 years
from the Grande Champagne region in France, LOUIS XIII is
delicately blended in ‘tierçon’ century-old casks made from
Limousine oak. It produces an unparalleled complexity with a
long lasting finish and is regarded as one of the most luxurious
spirits in the world.
To celebrate this prestigious spirit, Cocktails At Nine decided to
create an enlightening libation of
LOUIS XIII cognac, peychaud bitters, acacia gum,
lemon oil and absinthe mist on the glass
We have created an exquisite ‘sip of art’ both for the eye and
palate. This luxurious cocktail will be served table-side
exclusively at Cocktails At Nine

Museum aan de stroom
The MAS radiates water. You notice that as soon as you approach the museum; rippling glass, reflections in the water, and on the roof you can see how the Scheldt River connects Antwerp to the world and serves the city. From the roof it also provides a breath taking panorama of the city and an insight of the cities culture and history. NINE continues the tradition of serving Antwerp with Classic cocktails and its own creations. Here we celebrate a classic but with a special in house twist and table serve.

Het Havenhuis
The NINE staff choose this monument as their favourite! It crowns the city and the port, it reflects the past, the design and creativity that the city is famous for and symbolises Antwerp’s global importance of international trade. It could be the coolest office in the world: rising from the water’s edge like a crystal galleon, the new headquarters of the Antwerp Port Authority. We have therefore combined some of the favourite cocktail choices of both our staff and our clients for you to enjoy.

Onze-Lieve-Vrouwekathedraal
The Cathedral of Our Lady is a Roman Catholic Cathedral in the old city of Antwerp. Building commenced in 1352 and, although the first stage of construction ended in 1521, has never been 'completed'. In Gothic style, its architects were Jan and Pieter Appelmans. Still one of the most impressive buildings we have in Antwerp. A place for reflection and meditation. To compliment the mood and the teaching of moderation we have created a selection of Mindful drinks. Mindful drinks which deliver the flavour and enjoyment of a great cocktail, but with a lower alcohol level.

Het Steen
Het Steen is a medieval fortress, it is Antwerp's oldest building. The fortress made it possible to control access to the Scheldt, the river on whose bank it stands. In later years it was used as a prison. Perhaps where they locked up under- age drinkers, so beware! So for the younger amongst us who would like to enjoy a cocktail and not end up in the Steen, a mocktail is for you. Or perhaps you would simply like to enjoy a cocktail without any alcohol, then a mocktail is a great choice. We have crafted here beautifully flavoured classics and a home-made lemonade. Other favourites are available on request.

De Parkbrug
Antwerp is now expanding rapidly to the north and bringing to us a new and modern trend of architecture. With a new and exciting skyline, the rising towers, the iconic Antwerp Port Authority building and the new foot/cycle bridge and college campus. In keeping with this modern trend to the north of Antwerp we compliment the evolving cocktail scene with the current modern trend in social drinking, which is epitomised by the Gin & Tonic.

La Chapelle (The Jane)
The ornate historic Chapel has been sympathetically transformed into a beautiful fine dining establishment in Antwerp. Headed by Michelin star chef Sergio Herman and chef Nick Bril. The Jane repurposes the chapel, while preserving elements of its history. With a “fine dining meets rock and roll” theme. Here at NINE we are proud to be close to one of the world’s best restaurants and we know we cannot challenge it with our simple but ample Bar bites. But we can strive to achieve the same level of quality and creativity with the cocktails we serve. We trust you will agree we are rising to that challenge.

Museum - Plantin Moretus
Here they stand, the oldest printing presses in the world! Plantin and Moretus is the family business that took the printed word to Europe. The entire workshop of the world- famous printing works is still here, after 440 years, as if the working day is about to begin for the compositors, type founders, printers and proof-readers at any moment. Like Plantin and Moretus we respect the European market and what it gives. Europe provides us with some of the best wine, champagne and of course Belgium beer in the world. We use these great products in our cocktails, but of course they can be enjoyed in their own right. Please find here a small selection of Europes great products.

Antwerpen Centraal
The original station building was constructed between 1895 and 1905. The stone clad buildings, with a vast dome above the waiting room hall were designed by Louis Delacenserie. In 2014 the British-American magazine Mashable awarded Antwerpen-Centraal the first place for the most beautiful railway station in the world. Today we can leave Antwerp going via Brussels and London on a rail trip to Scotland, the historical home of whisky. On arrival in Scotland if you would like to get to know whisky a little better, take a Whisky Tour!

Het Pomphuis
This magnificent building and piece of nautical history was completed in 1920 and at the time was one of the largest in Europe. As its name suggests “Pomphuis” was designed and built to empty the adjacent Dry Dock No.7, so that ships could be quickly serviced/repaired, loaded and unloaded and sent like new on its way. The three giant cast iron centrifugal pumps emptied the Dry Dock No.7 in just 2 hours. A regular user was the Red Star Line!
The wonderful monument has been lovingly converted into a restaurant retaining its electric style with Art Nouveau features; a must be seen!
At Nine we don’t service or repair but we do make cocktails which we hope lifts your spirits and send you home feeling like new. And to complement our endeavors and perhaps encourage you to enjoy cocktails at home and impress your friends, we can offer you a choice of fun workshops
