Menu Bars New menu tabs have simply made things easier to access – rather than following a pathway, for most things you should be able to click on a tab and see it. General Functionality – When you scroll over an item in the menu bar, Word will show a preview as an overlay on your document if available (This is available with selections like font, size, bullets, styles etc).

Home Tab (This is where the main things are to do with text/font/styles etc)
Insert Tab (Think ‘anything you want to put onto the page’) When you use any feature of the ‘Insert’ tab, another tab will appear after ‘View’; This tab will allow you to modify your object you have inserted. Right clicking on the object and selecting format are still available options if you prefer this.

Font, size, bold, italics…
Bullets, numbering,
alignment, indenting
Style of writing (‘Normal’ which is the default creates paragraph spacing when
you enter down a line; Select ‘No Spacing’ if you do NOT want this feature).
