“Metal” of Honor is a dazzling Car & Bike Show being held in Slidell on September 21, 2013 from 9am-5pm to benefit the Support Our War Heroes Foundation. Both the “Metal” of Honor event and the Support Our War Heroes Foundation were founded with the belief that there are many heroes in our lives - and ALL service members in the United States military are heroes. The “Metal” of Honor fundraiser is to assist service members in our community who have sustained life altering injuries and to continue to support them into the future, as necessary. Many service members who have been seriously wounded in Iraq or Afghanistan struggle to rehabilitate from their injuries and resume a normal, fulfilling, civilian life. Far too many of these military heroes have had traumatic amputations, brain and spinal cord injuries, or shrapnel wounds that will retire them from military service.

Support Our War Heroes, a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization, and “Metal” of Honor Car & Bike Show have as their goals:

Recognition:

The “Metal” of Honor fundraising event honors the sacrifice and courage of our men and women in uniform. The stories of some of these brave warriors are told in the Support Our War Heroes, website: www.supportourwarheroes.net. Those who have shared their stories have helped this foundation grow and prosper; thereby helping to support the “Metal” Of Honor assist their fellow warriors.

Advocacy:

Support Our War Heroes, benefited by “Metal” of Honor, serves as a voice and advocate on behalf of wounded service members to ensure that all benefits due are received.

Funding:

“Metal” of Honor fundraiser is a non-partisan foundation in support of our men and women in uniform from all branches of the military. It is not affiliated with the United States military. “Metal” Of Honor was established in and funded by the private sector through donations, fundraisers and under the umbrella of Support Our War Heroes Foundation, a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization. All services are provided to soldiers’ families AT NO COST TO THEM.

FAQ’s:

Who does the “Metal” of Honor Benefit? How Will the Donations be Used?Donations and Sponsorships from the “Metal” of Honor Event will be given to “Support Our War Heroes”, a 501 c (3) non-profit organization, to give financial assistance and other needed support to the brave Heroes and families of the Iraq/Afghanistan War. The funds are given to meet specific needs, for real-life situations, that aren’t covered by the VA Hospital and Veteran’s Disability checks. Support Our War Heroes benefits our home-town Heroes from Louisiana and Mississippi specifically. Here’s just a few of the examples of how Support Our War Heroes and “Metal” of Honor have helped through donations from our sponsors:*Replacing flooring in the home of a Hero who is now paraplegic so that he can use his wheelchair;*Purchasing and retro-fitting a van for a paraplegic Hero so that he can have a wheelchair lift AND drive his new twin babies, with car seats, for Daddy’s day out; (YAY!)*Purchasing hearing aids (which are not covered by the VA Hospital) for the young child of a Hero.

Is my donation tax deductible? Yes! Support Our War Heroes is a 501 c (3) non-profit organization. Their IRS Letter of Determination is included with this packet for your tax purposes.
